From an ad in the Daily Fail about getting a wedding dress like Meghan's:
"The dress is undoubtedly the biggest decision you will make when you say 'I do'"

Surely the choice of spouse is more important than the dress?

Grin of course the dress is most important. Who cares who you marry?

Dailyfail at it again.

I wore a blue silk frock I'd had in the wardrobe for a couple of years when exDH and I went down the register office with two mates one Monday morning.

The second time around I wore a nice suit I already had when we took 3 mates to a different register office one Saturday.

Whoops, I bought my dress from ASOS' bridal range three weeks before the wedding - and I used a discount code Grin

I hired my dress. So I've had DH a lot longer and paid more. Grin

Hmm the dress is quite important but what about the cake? The flowers? THE WINE?

My wedding dress was a charity shop find, a bright purple silk Monsoon number that had a 70s vibe, £12.50 (it was reduced.) It was gorgeous, I just about managed to squeeze into it, and then I took it to another charity shop a few months later.

I spent a grand total of zero time considering a dress. I got married in my ordinary clothes, signed the bit of paper and went home. My choice of husband was infinitely more important than any wedding bollocks.

Even if they just meant in terms of “things you need to organise for the wedding” it’s not true.

I bought a very nice dress but it wasn’t the most important decision. Our choice of reception venue was.

Choosing somewhere nice that would feed and look after our guests well and have plenty of space for dancing was far more important.

It's the Daily Mail what did you expect. Getting married, it's all about your appearance...

Actually, the thing I think most about before saying 'I Do' is when someone asks 'it's last orders. Do you want me to get a double round in?'
