To ask what this rash looks like?

I had this rash for three months and was too scared to go to the doctor due to my anxiety and reclusive ways...

Does it look like it was chicken pox? That is what I assumed it was.

It was all over my body, I was literally covered in them. Not in my mouth or my eyeballs but it was everywhere else. I had already had chicken pox twice before this mystery condition including in my mouth and they were bad cases.

Since then I have been very ill and diagnosed with fibromyalgia and I have no energy and can't walk more than 25-30 metres without being wiped out the pain is awful and I have next to no memory and very blurred eyesight.

After reading the above thread about fibro I am wondering if this was the cause, I had forgotten all about this mystery rash until now!

I know I am being unreasonable to ask now, and ask the internet, but I am wondering if this is the cause!

With the upmost respect- you need to see a GP to discuss the rash and your mental health issues. I know it may be scary but your health is too important not to.

Thank you. I know I do, it is just so difficult to get an appointment and I don't want to waste their time asking about a two year old rash/illness.

I am getting better about leaving the house now, I go out twice a week which didn't happen for a whole year back then.

You are absolutely not going to be wasting their time! A rash like that needs to be seen - goodness knows what it is but it not atypical heat rash or something like that. They may be able to diagnose and provide treatment at your appointment or you may be referred to a dermatologist but you must get it seen to. Good luck Smile

The rash is two years old and long gone, I still have lots of scarring all over. But it did last 3 months getting new ones every day and didn't clear up for about 3 more months before scarring. No one else in the household got it.

Oh! Sorry I’ve misunderstood, I didn’t pick up on the fact that it was from a few years ago!
I personally would still go and see them - just to get a check on it and they can reassure you hopefully by confirming what it was

Thewhale2903 · 24/05/2018 00:42

Doesn't sound like chicken pox, they are usually gone within 3 weeks.
If you really can't bring yourself to go to the doctors there is a live chat thing you can do now. Unfortunately I don't think its free, I've never tried it though.

ElderflowerWaterIsDelish · 24/05/2018 00:47

I would call the drs surgery and ask at least if you can speak to the dr on the phone,

If it's lasting three months then it needs investigating

Gagastwin · 24/05/2018 00:48

Thanks, I will check that chat thing out. I will try and get an appointment in the meantime and ask.

Looking back on it with a clearer (ish) head I don't believe it is chicken pox now either. Some were blisters and crusted slightly but a lot did cluster rather than remain singular.

Thanks

@Gagastwin it actually looks like it could be Scabies.

Gagastwin · 24/05/2018 00:54

Unfortunately, I cant use the NHS chat. One said it was for Scottish patients and another I cant download the app on my brand new phone Hmm "not compatible".

That's a shame, definitely try and see a doctor just explain why it's been so long and show them the pics

Gagastwin · 24/05/2018 01:06

I've looked up scabies, I don't think it was that. I didn't have the egg lines under the skin and no one else caught it (we have a big family) and scabies is very easily passed on isn't it?

I hope they don't laugh me out the doctor's office with a two year old problem. Lol

Of course they won't they are there to help you. Good luck

Gagastwin · 24/05/2018 01:19

Thank you! I will report back as soon as I manage to get an appointment... Could be a few weeks!
