To have not known that Mrs Beeton died at 28?

I fell down a Wikipedia hole, wound up on her page and saw she was only 28 when she died. I always assumed she was an plump elderly housewife, not a young woman who didn't even make it to 30. Apparently her husband gave her syphillis and she lost several children before dying of puerperal fever, poor woman.

I've got my grandmother's copy of that book that tells you to make sure you have a fresh ribbon in your hair when your DH comes home from a hard day at the office. And not to bother him with your petty trifles but to fetch him his slippers and newspapers.

i imagine the housemaids rose at 5am to avoid the sneaky morning attentions of the syphilitic master of the house.
