Shamelessly postinf for traffic...

I have had a rash for a week and a half now. It started on my chest but is now all over my back, torso, legs, upper ams etc. It isnt itchy. Its red blotches that feel very slightly raised and dry.

Have been to GP who was a little flummoxed as not itching, but thought probably an allergy. But it is getting steadily worse and more widespread.

I havent eaten anything out of the ordinary, have no other real symptoms, havent changed washing powder or cleaning products. I havent been in the sun a lot ( I burn horribly). I have tried moisturiser/ emollient (have been washing in Oilatum), Loratidine, hydrocortisone and daktakort (not all at once!) GP has prescribed fexofenadine which I took first dose today.

Anyone have any ideas what might be the cause of this reaction please? Its driving me mad not knowing!!!

Oh god this is me today Sadstarted with a few dots on my hand on Saturday and today I'm covered. Everywhere apart from my face. Doctors don't know what it is and have just prescribed hydrocortisone cream, I already take fexofenadine for hay fever Sad

I will definitely try the head and shoulders! I wonder if whatever causes it (viral?) is doing the rounds hope everyone becomes less polka dot along with me soon!

And here was me thinking Id had the unsightly illnesses as a child!

I got a rash all over my legs a couple of years ago - it seemed to begin at my ankles and then worked its way up. Went to the GP and he fetched another one in to look at me (with my trousers down) as he was flummoxed. They looked and prodded and both eventually said "some sort of allergy" and prescribed a 3 day course of steroids.

Which either worked or it just went away.

My GP seemed quite pleased with herself when she diagnosed me with pityriasis rosea! It is quite variable, I've had it twice and it looked completely different the second time. It does sound like it with the bigger patch.

It was quite dramatic looking but not massively itchy in my case.

My GP said not much was known about it, maybe because it doesn't seem to cause much of a problem.
