My partner is groomsman at one of our closest friends weddings, we've both been invited but neither of us are close with the bride. They've been together for a few year and most of our friends circle finds her hard work, we love our friend and his happiness is obviously something we support 100% so bells and all, come wedding day we'll be there in the front row! (or wherever our seats are)
I have scars on both of my legs between the knee and ankle so my legs are normally covered up or covered in makeup.

Is it super wrong of me to wear a formal style dress as a wedding guest? I've found some shoes I love and a baby pink dress that matches, but i'm worried that a formal dress might offend the bride?

That may be a bit full on (not to mention no where near garish enough) for an Australian wedding. What part of Australia are you in?

I live in Australia....right next to a popular outdoor wedding venue so I do see guests (and brides) all day at weekends.

I would say it's too bridesmaid-ish OP.

I also think it’s too bridesmaid-y. I’d keep looking.

Also think the preamble was necessary. If you don’t know her well enough to ask then just play it safe. So no bridesmaid dresses Smile.

*Unnecessary

I'm the same with having to wear maxi dresses to cover legs and this has always been fine (UK weddings) but I agree that plain maxi dresses, especially pastel colours, are too risky due to possible bridesmaid clashing. Much safer to find a maxi dress in a lovely print/pattern.

Looks like a bridesmaid dress

It's very bridesmaid, look for something long with a pattern
