I moved into a rented flat last month.
I get a really poor WiFi connection on my phone or computer in my room (it sometimes connects, but very rarely - usually, 4G is the only option).
The connection is fine in the other rooms in the flat (e.g. living room) and my flatmates don’t have problems connecting to the Internet from their bedrooms. One of my flatmates used to have my bedroom, and they said that they had problems with the WiFi connection when they were in my room.
In my tenancy contract from my landlord, it says:
‘The Landlord is responsible for providing internet connection at the Property. The Owner will only be responsible for paying monthly charges in respect to telephone line rental and internet connection including the router. The Tenant will be responsible for connecting their own computer equipment to the internet signal provided. If for any reason, the connection to the Tenant’s computer equipment fails, the Landlord will not be held responsible and if a technician is required all the charges will be borne by the Tenant.’
The landlord pays all of the bills including the WiFi, as all bills are included in my monthly rent payments.
Would I be unreasonable to tell my landlord that I can’t get an internet connection in my bedroom?
