Any other lazy life tips?

Not a big one for ready meals, but just had my eyes open to frozen mash. 3 minutes, 3 ingredients... yummy. Its a life changer.
Putting this along with using hair straighteners for cuffs/ collars... hanging shirts in the bathroom when having a bath and washing up liquid to clean windows.
Any other pure lazy life changing tips???

Not lazy as such, but thrifty/frugal. If you use a reusable cup in Cafe Nero, you get two extra stamps. I fill up a card a week.

Washing up liquid to clean windows? Please tell me more!

You can soak oven racks and grill trays in biological washpowder, they come out very clean with little effort, just rub them with a cloth.

Sunlight to remove stains from clothes.

Are the 3 ingredients potato, butter and milk for the mash?

RubyWho · 20/05/2018 18:20

Okay my tip is crap compared to the other two. Disregard.

RitaSpanner · 20/05/2018 18:24

I keep one of each item that I use regularly in every room. For example, I have hand cream, lip balm and face wipes in the living room, bedroom and bathroom. It saves getting up to get them. Ah, and a bin in every room so you're not carting rubbish around from one room to the other.

As you can tell, I'm pretty lazy! Grin

I use a pressure cooker for mash potato. 3 ingrediants, 5-10 mins, and cheap restaurant quality mash. Same for soups. Loose veg is cheaper than bagged. Some frozen veg is cheaper and better value than fresh (cauliflower, sweetcorn etc).

Mashandbangers · 20/05/2018 18:28

Yes, butter milk and potato’s but 3 mins in microwave and not too much difference cost wise. Always assumed it would be yuck but actually very nice. I’m sold!

I use foil or greaseproof paper to line my tins when I cook. Saves on washing up.

RiotAndAlarum · 20/05/2018 18:29

@RubyWho , no, that's a great tip! I have my own cup and I likeCaffe Nero!

My best one: instead of swapping
Duvets around summer to winter etc just have two summer duvets... it means you can throw the duvet, cover and all into the wash... I only change my cover every six weeks but it gets a weekly wash, feels so
Much cleaner !

Was pointed out to me that washing up liquid is designed to cut through grease, bit streak, and leave glass sparkling. I now use it for windows/mirrors and bathroom. Same concentration as you would use to wash up. Can clean bathroom for a year with one bottle!

Also baking tray lined on bottom
Of oven to collect splashes

And use MILk not water to save burnt spuds... totally erases any burnt smell

Mashandbangers · 20/05/2018 18:32

Love it. Use foil under the grill pan but never though if other pans 🤔

I must try the washing up liquid thing on glass.

Rainshowers · 20/05/2018 18:51

Along the lines of frozen mash, frozen soffrito is amazing for making a quick bolognese or as the base for pasta sauce etc.

HellenaHandbasket · 20/05/2018 18:56

I love frozen garlic. That is definitely my lazy life revelation of late.

MobMoll · 20/05/2018 18:58

I don’t consider these tips lazy but more like shorts cuts for a busy life! I have an electric scented oil burner. I stick a cube of scented wax on it, turn it on and the house smells fresh and clean in a few minutes. I line pans with foil and use disposable foil pans. Always keep some bread in the freezer, it’s a lifesaver and saves a trip to the shops when you realize you run out and need to make the kids lunches and toast in the morning. I have my eyebrows microbladed (natural looking, not sharpie like) and carry coloured lip glosses in my handbag that I apply in the car. I’m always on the run and it saves so much time compared to attempting to apply makeup with a toddler pulling at me

Have a big, late breakfast on a Sunday and get your dp to make dinner Sunday evening.

It means I do close to no chores for most of Sunday, unless I want to.
