I was removing the yolks from my 10 year old DD's hard boiled eggs today when I thought "I really shouldn't do this..."

She's ten, she could do it herself ffs!

Or she could...GASP! EAT THEM!

I boil her three eggs...hardboiled...so I can easily take out all the bloody yolks!

She eats well....she's not an especially fussy kid apart from that. Why am I still doing it as though she were a toddler!

Don't judge...I want to know the silly things you do for yours.

I look things up on the internet, he's 27 and has a son of his own.

telling ds to chew his food and not to rush, he's 19 ffs

the fear is still there

I was staying at my mums the other week. I came downstairs in the morning and she asked me if I'd washed my face and cleaned my teeth. I'm 49!!!!

I was still cutting their toenails in their late teens. No idea why but it seemed quite normal until I mentioned it once to a friend and she looked a bit Hmm

I’ve stopped now but still nag them to go to the dentist Grin.

I lay out my kids’ clothes the night before, even on the weekends. My son (6) doesn’t really care what he wears as long as he’s comfortable. My daughter (4) has a habit of picking out completely inappropriate clothing for the weather.

ProudThrilledHappy · 20/05/2018 12:36

Ds (9) picked his own clothes today, I’m feeling a little bit redundant now. Normally I do it - then have to nag repeatedly to get him to put them on

kaitlinktm · 20/05/2018 12:47

I do his washing (he is in his 30s and still lives at home - although he should be moving out soon - then I won't be doing his washing.)

AjasLipstick · 20/05/2018 12:56

My older DD sacked me from choosing her clothes when she was about 9....my younger who is the yolk-hating ten year old will probably be happy for me to do it when she's 30! Grin

I still get DS (12 and 14) school bags ready for them, make sure they’ve got the right books, sports kit etc. I know I shouldn’t and it’s not teaching them to take responsibility, but the school are so strict and I can’t be doing with a last minute rush in the mornings!

My DS is at uni and has an end of exams hangover so he is coming home for me to look after him. Poor babyWink
