What do "Royalists" who dress up/camp out for days for glimpse of Royal Family get from it?

What do people really get from dressing up in tacky union jack suits and camping out for days to see glimpse of royal wedding and at other royal "celebrations"

People on the news saying they have been there for 4 days to get the best view.

Same with the idiots who camped out side the hospital when kate middleton was having her children.

Never understood people with this fascination. Most people I know are largely indifferent to the royal family.

But how do they wee? How do they 💩 ? When the Royal Family refer to their people as “the great unwashed” they are not being snobby, they are stating a fact. Four days, and not even a bidet Confused

I can understand people going along and dressing up and enjoying the atmosphere. I don’t get how people can camp out or sit in the front row in the freezing cold for a couple of days as was shown on tv yesterday.

I think the same about the cult like followers of Jeremy Corbyn!

The thing about it that I hate is that they got rid of all the homeless people in Windsor (by got rid, I understand that the police confiscated their bedding and possessions, and told them they could have it back after the weekend - provided they pissed off somewhere else during the meantime) so that people with actual houses, with nothing better to do then dress from head to toe in the Union Jack, could sit there instead. This is OK apparently, you can camp out on the street if you have a home and money but not if you don't.

Im sadly not really there i was being sarcastic although everyone looks happy like they are having fun :)

Op what are you on about?! You literally started a thread critising members of the public not the royal family now you are twisting it to a different argument.

Presumably the same thing people get out of football matches, or queueing at 5am for the Next Boxing Day sales, or the latest iPhone, or a myriad of other things I don’t get.

I think they’re all bonkers but they’re not hurting anyone so what does it matter?

This.

Jovial and houseof they did try and turf out the rough sleepers but were quite rightly shamed for this and they dropped their plans - all our regulars were definitely still there this morning. I did wonder if the street angel van that comes round to check on the rough sleepers would have to help the royalist campers though, it was down into the single digits overnight the last couple nights.
