To visit a walk in centre for this?

I've had a cough for around 6 weeks now, I don't have any other symptoms but thought it would be a good idea to get checked out.

I'm struggling to get a doctors appointment, would I be ok to visit an NHS walk in centre or are these designed for people requiring more urgent attention?

Ive had coughs that last that long. The type that usually comes on after a cold but isn't a chest infection then lingers. I made a doctors appointment one time - 2 weeks future as didn't feel it was emergency and it had gone by then. Another time I had a chest X-ray but again it was nothing just something I get that can linger.

I'm at the start of another of these coughs, hopefully it won't be a long one.

The neighbour's fire pit is NOT helping as I can't sleep with window closed but apparently opening the window means more coughing 😟

Please don't wait. Please ring and explain how long you have had the cough. It needs to be checked out. If you worsen over the weekend ring the out of hours GP or push on Monday. If they don't have an appointment ask them your other options. 6 weeks really is a long time to have a cough. It's hopefully just something that needs more than over the counter stuff but it is a symptom of many other things. Please don't think that in saying not a WiC it means that you are in less need, it's just the same GP's don't do teeth. They don't do lungs.

I used to work for 111.
It’s fine to phone for advice. They are trained medics. Mumsnet is not.
