FDA have approved the first ever drug designed to prevent migraine attacks. US patients can, in theory, be prescribed it from next week.

For some reason the only UK media to pick this up is the Daily Fail, so posting here for traffic.

I'm another on BOTOX, daily topiramate 400mg but apart from tingly fingers am lucky with side effects, and I inject up to 12 times a month with sumitriptan too...of course I have to keep it in reserve for the worst migraines only 😕...no other treatment has worked but the BOTOX has been a life saver

Wow. Massive, massive deal of it really works. The low efficacy combined with awful side effects of most existing migraine drugs for me, mean this could change my life.

Thanks OP, for bringing it to my attention :)
