Niece and her friend visiting me. Well travelled etc. They would be getting the train from Hove up and back.

I was going to go with them and then just sit in a cafe and work while they went and did their thing, but they've said they'll be fine on their own.

Obviously I'll check with both sets of parents and they will have the final call. Just interested in what other people think?

Thanks!

It is my lifes mission to be a Supercool Aunt so glad that it seems reasonable to let them go!

My niece has actually asked me to put together a list of options for fun things they can do. Sounds like she's keen to do the main tourist things - e.g. Buck Pal, Big Ben. I was actually thinking of suggesting the hop on hop off just because thats an easy way to get to the main sights.

For shopping I was going to go with Covent Garden.

Looking at speedboat trips on the Thames from Embankment.

Any other suggestions I could give them??

You all sound credibly cool with all your teenage hijinks in London.

The Southbank's lovely to walk along on a sunny day - nice places to eat and there's the London Eye and Tate Modern.

Portobello Market (Notting Hill) was a favourite of mine at that age. Camden Market as well.
