I've seen two very different programmes recently where people were being interviewed talking about serious and properly emotional subject and started to cry. (one was about the Grenfell tower and one was on First Dates, talking about a partner who died).
In both cases, the interviewee said "sorry" to camera, apologising for their emotion and seemed ashamed or embarrassed that they were emotional.
But really, why should they apologise? It's normal and fine and healthy to be upset about bereavement and loss.
Why do we have such a stigma about crying? & shouldn't we stop apologising for being human? Can't we change this part of culture?
