For 6+ plus should just be binned ?

Honestly there is hand wash / tumble dry stuff (don’t have one) that torments me every time I delve in

Should I just bin ?

I have the same issue!

Boatsnack3 · 17/05/2018 19:03

There's a dress on the bottom of my basket that I wore to my Christmas night out 3 years ago. It won't even fit me I've lost 4 stone since then but still it lies at the bottom of the basket taunting me because I can't donate it until I wash it.

CurlyWurlyCatcher · 17/05/2018 19:05

This thread is hilarious, we have a washing basket each in three bedrooms.. all three have a section of 'handwash, worn once' items taking up space at the bottom Grin

Does your washing machine have a delicates wash option?

Tumble dry stuff can just be stuck on a hanger/airer???

Or am I missing something????

ABeautifulSunnyMonday · 17/05/2018 19:11

@Queenie8 - there’s a puffa style jacket that says no dry cleaning but tumble dry because of the feathers.

I have a handwash option on my machine. Anything that doesn't survuve that doesn't make the cut!

britnay · 17/05/2018 19:13

Anything that can't be bunged in the wash with everything else will just get donated to charity shop. I'm not going to faff about with different settings ffs.

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 17/05/2018 19:14

At least chuck them in the machine before binning it. They will either wash ok or...not, in which case it will be easy to get rid.

HeedMove · 17/05/2018 19:17

Put the puffa in the machine on a handwash cycle with those tumble drier balls or a couple of tennis balls. That stops the feathers from balling together.

YellowBucket · 17/05/2018 19:17

Oh thank goodness it’s not just mine! I was debating this issue earlier too. I really want to just get rid but it feels wrong.

PalePinkSwan · 17/05/2018 19:49

Put them in the machine on your gentlest cycle. If it works, great. If they’re ruined, donate it to a charity shop for rags, they get paid quite well for rags that are recycled into eg insulation.

We did this a while ago and managed to reduce from 3 laundry baskets to 2 because it cleared so much crap that had just been sitting there.

Queenie8 · 17/05/2018 20:46

Defo stick the puffa in the machine on a gentle cool/cold wash, and line dry for as long as possible, keep turning it, and once dry, it might take a while, keep shaking it in all directions. Or take it to the laundrette and run it through the dryer with a couple of tennis balls on the lowest heat setting.
