AIBU about the bins

maskingtape · 17/05/2018 18:32

I live on a row of 3 houses. We have the 3 wheely bins in a bin store at the front of the houses. On bin day every week I pull all 3 bins down the gravel driveway (hard when they're heavy and I have to navigate carefully around the neighbour's car) for the bin collection.

Every week I get home and 2 of the bins have been wheeled back to the bin store after the bin lorry comes. Mine is always left despite the fact I put them out in the first place. AIBU? Should I just start just doing my own?

Yup.

Maelstrop · 17/05/2018 18:34

Just do your own. Cheeky bastards!

TERFragetteCity · 17/05/2018 18:34

Yes of course.

Missingthesea · 17/05/2018 18:35

I'd start just doing my own
How come you always put all three out anyway? It's nice of you, but evidently not appreciated or they'd put yours back.

ScoobyCan · 17/05/2018 18:36

Definitely just do your own from now on!

MyKingdomForBrie · 17/05/2018 18:36

Obviously stop dragging all three down!

Returnofthesmileybar · 17/05/2018 18:37

Oh definitely just do your own!

BlueBug45 · 17/05/2018 18:38

Yes only do your own.

Just make sure they can't use your bin the first week you do it mind.

AlonsoTigerHeart · 17/05/2018 18:39

Fuck them, just do your own

LilySwamp · 17/05/2018 18:40

Yep, look after your own from now on. Would have appreciated a neighbour like you near me op.

BMW6 · 17/05/2018 18:46

Absolutely only take your own down from now on!

ArseholesOnToast · 17/05/2018 18:47

Cheeky bastards. Definitely only wheel your own bin out from now on. Fuck erm.

My neighbour always wheels mine back in as I leave early and I always say thanks (she likes to make the street look tidy, I don’t expect it!).

Iloveacurry · 17/05/2018 18:48

Just do your own.

CluedoAddict · 17/05/2018 20:23

You might be making more hassle though if they then fill your bin up if theirs isn't emptied.

Daddystepdaddy · 17/05/2018 20:43

Do they know it is you taking the bins out? If not they might assume it is the binmen. No need to be the bin fairy.

slashlover · 17/05/2018 20:45

Buy a bin lock before you do it though.

NoSquirrels · 17/05/2018 20:48

Blimey. I’d have never started with that in the first place! Of course stop bothering. Agree you need to prevent them using your empty bin when they’ve missed the collection tho.

BewareOfDragons · 17/05/2018 20:50

Stop doing it.

Make sure they can't use your bin if they forget to put their own out.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 17/05/2018 20:50

Yes. Buy a bin lock and then just do your own. They'll soon realise they have fucked up - and you can smile, whilst not lugging the 2 extra bins to the curb!

RavenLG · 17/05/2018 20:51

Exactly what Squirrels said. Stop doing it now but you may find them just using your bin since it will be the only empty one as the lazy fuckers can't take their own bin out.

Puddlejumps · 17/05/2018 21:28

Why do you do all of the bins? Just do your own, they obviously don’t appreciate it. Very kind of you though.

peachgreen · 17/05/2018 21:29

They maybe think the bin men collect them?

Bitchywaitress · 17/05/2018 21:30

They probably think the binmen or bin fairies are taking them out.

CFs, STOP immediately!

BeakyPlinder · 17/05/2018 21:39

I always take my neighbours bin out for him and he always brings them in...the neighbours before him were also knobheads and only did their own so I just stopped taking theirs out

maskingtape · 17/05/2018 22:35

They know it's not the bin men who do it as they're the ones who told me where to wheel mine to when I first moved in.

I started doing it because I thought it was the neighbourly thing to do but I feel they're taking the Mick when they then take their own bins back but not mine. That's the easier bit too as the bins are light by then.
