They all seem so expensive.

I’ve never seen size 7 pull ups.

What age is your DC? Could they not get away with 6+ or size 6?

Vanillaradio · 17/05/2018 08:31

Can you get 6+ in pull-ups? Where?

Sausageheadset · 17/05/2018 08:32

He's age 5 and wore size 7 nappies. Wets the bed every night....

He says size 6 pull ups are too tight.

We use Dry Nights pyjama pants age 5-7 I think (and you can get age 8-15 if he needs bigger). They're not especially cheap though, but they're often on offer at asda, two packs for £8.

Sockwomble · 17/05/2018 08:46

Online can be cheaper if you can find some with free delivery. Unfortunately everything above standard size isn't going to be cheap. Ds's nappies work out about 75p each.
There are also reuseables but they are more suitable for those who have accidents rather than those who need them all the time.

stressedoutfred · 17/05/2018 08:46

We use dry nites and they work well. Expensive but I haven't found a cheaper alternative!

sentenceinterrupted · 17/05/2018 09:02

We used to use drynites but have found a local store brand in 6 plus works even tho the pampers etc are too tight in the same size. We are overseas now but maybe worth trying around various stores?

MothertotheLordsofmisrule · 17/05/2018 09:06

We used drynites.

Ds2 wet the bed until he was quite old (about 9). Have you contacted the GP about some methods to help with bed wetting.

We tried medication which didn’t work, but the alarm did. Also drinking loads in one go to stretch the bladder.

If you think you will be buying them for a long time look at amazon subscribe and save. They were the cheapest when I was buying them

Littlebluebird123 · 17/05/2018 09:15

We used drynites as they go up to 8-15 I think. I found the pull ups were too tight and uncomfortable. I buy in bulk when they're on offer. £4 for a pack of 10 is normally the best deal but sometimes you can get them a little cheaper. I found amazon subscription was sometimes helpful.

As a side note have you been to an enuresis clinic? I think we were referred after discussion with the school nurse but I'd imagine you can ask doctor. It gave me loads of helpful tips and reassured me as I felt I must be missing something. (Mine were dry day/night from 3 but regressed when they started school.)

piggytoes · 17/05/2018 09:19

Yes you can buy size 7 pull ups- only place that sells them though are Tena Direct. They're called libero up and go and iirc are £24 for 4 bags of 18. If you ring the tena helpline they will send out samples

However Lidl size 6 pants are effectively the same size as the libero and a hell of a lot cheaper.

bazingabazinga · 17/05/2018 09:36

Ah wee lamb. 5 is still so young.

When I said 6+ I was assuming they just existed. If the 6 is too tight then you might need to bite the bullet and just buy the size 7.

Is 5 too young to speak to doc about ways to avoid night wetting?

raffle · 17/05/2018 09:39

I think in our area the NHS provide nappies if continence is a problem and the child is 5 or over. For free.

Can’t quite remember as DS is much older now.

I do remember that they deliver in bulk, so we had nappies stuffed in every drawer, cupboard, wardrobe etc!

jamoncrumpets · 17/05/2018 09:41

Aldi size 6 pull ups are v generously sized

PinPon · 17/05/2018 09:43

Aldi or Lidl size 6 pull-ups are worth a try for a 5 year old. Cheap too.

CakeyHoohaa · 17/05/2018 11:14

Are the aldi/lidl ones more absorbant too? Been having some issues with our son not making it through the night without soaking through his size 6 pampers.

Vanillaradio · 17/05/2018 13:26

Ds (age 4) is in size 6 pull-ups and soaks through them 2-3 times a week, that includes Aldi and Pampers and the Dry-nites ones with age on.......thats why I asked if 6+ existed......

sentenceinterrupted · 17/05/2018 18:02

6+ definitely exist!

BertieBotts · 17/05/2018 18:04

Have you tried amazon with the subscription thing?

BertieBotts · 17/05/2018 18:05

Apparently the + just means more absorbant, not bigger.

x2boys · 17/05/2018 18:10

you can buy size 7 pampers not everywhere stocks them though and you can buy bigger sized nappies on Amazon look under special needs .

x2boys · 17/05/2018 18:13

the NHS do supply nappies we get them for ds2 aged 8 he has autism and learning disabilities you have to be assessed for them though and only get a limited number they are very bulky .

athingthateveryoneneeds · 17/05/2018 18:17

Just a side note, have you ruled out chronic constipation? Many, many night (and day) wetters suffer.from it, as the overly full bowels push against the bladder and irritate it.

morekidsthanhands · 17/05/2018 19:46

Deffo try lidl loads bigger
