Nowhere can I find an option to opt out of having my parcels delivered to various neighbours.

I don't want my parcels being delivered to our neighbours it's that simple, so do I leave a sign on my door saying that?

Can you not add a message when you place your orders?

QueenOfIce · 16/05/2018 23:16

No it seems they're ignored!

Our company puts a note on parcel labels to that effect if a customer asks us to.

That's what I do myself if having something delivered to my home.

I had a DPD delivery sent to my local Matalan.

BlueBug45 · 16/05/2018 23:21

The messages go to the retailer who frequently doesn't pass them on to the delivery company. Amazon are about the only company who passes on such messages, while DPD do often text before a delivery so you can prevent them delivering to a neighbour. The rest are just sh**.

I have the dpd app wouldn't it be easier to just have a simple opt out instead they won't let you pass go until you've specified which neighbour you'll be happy to deliver to!

For now I'll put a shit sign on the door politely asking they don't deliver elsewhere. Dpd you can change delivery date but others you can't. Need an outdoor parcel safe thingy!

Dpd will deliver to local shops for you.

Jaguarana · 16/05/2018 23:23

Some of our customers get parcels delivered to local shops.

The thing is that couriers are often paid per parcel they deliver and are penalised if they bring any back to the depot, so they do anything they can to get them delivered - even if that means delivering them to neighbours. It's not right, but that's what many of them do.

A sign on the door might be the best option in your case.

Our Hermes courier delivers at stupid times like 6.30AM, hammers on the door like riot police then wonders why you can't be polite to them.
