Do you really believe that PTA organized events are an effective way to raise funds for school needs?

(I have absolutely nothing against those events - i think they are great for socializing for those who want it! Perhaps it would be better if there was less sugar and plastic and more male participation. I just can’t wrap my mind around the fact that you try to coax money out of parents by offering them cookies and lottery tickets Hmm)

hmmm. Aside from PP, are all schools within. E same council area, say, reviewing the same per pupil funding for non staff costs? Wondering if there is another element that’s discretionary to compensate for pta fund differences.

Doesn't the schools funding formula aim to give more to schools in deprived areas? (And then PP on top?)
I thought it did but I could well be wrong.

Interestingly, although PP can be lumped together and be spent on the whole PP cohort, I think that enhanced PP for e.g. adopted children is meant to be spent on the child.

One of my dds schools do coffee mornings and bacon sandwiches. One of my other dds schools do summer faires and cake sales. I have no problem donating..a few teachers at each school do their own bit of fundraising too. (Hiking, cutting off their hair, ect) it always raises a fair bit of money too.

Our school makes a good amount of money from the May fair, Christmas fair and fireworks display. They also do other things that raise less money but are fun for the children (and families) to take part in like discos, bingo, quiz nights etc. The school/ children benefit from the funds massively.

Maybe a great fundraiser would be every non participating parent that whines about "them" not organising events to their liking has to cough up £20 per moan? That should raise thousands.
