to try the wrong size mooncup?

After much deliberation I bought my first moon cup!

It arrived today but noticed I’d bought the smaller size when I had intended to order the bigger one.

I’ve had 2 children and my flow can be anything from light to heavy. I don’t feel I’ve changed anatomically from the two births though - everything pinged back to normal as far as I can tell. wish I could say the same about my overhang tummy but hey ho

So should I try it and see or should I send it back (PITA) and get a bigger one?

I'd get the bigger one.

I very much doubt they will accept a returned mooncup....

Noqonterfy · 14/05/2018 21:25

I think there is very little difference between the sizes anyway. I'd probably just keep it.

It’s still sealed in its packaging - not used or even touched!

They have a good returns policy IIRC.

From my understanding the age/children guidelines are not as useful as how high your cervix is when you are menstruating. If you can measure how high your cervix is, (use your finger), then you can work out which size menstrual cup you need. Bear in mind there are other brands than mooncup, some are different shapes, (ranging from bell shaped to more conical shapes) and some are softer (and exert less pressure on your bladder, but are harder to pop open inside you). When you find the right fit, you will never look back.

I'd try the one you've got. If your flow is very variable, you might find you like to alternate between smaller and bigger ones anyway.

It'd probably be fine. I accidentally used my old one after having dc (same drawer as the new one) and didn't notice the difference until I was putting it away again. I'm over 30, vaginal births, big babies. Go figure! Grin

Use it, I bought the smaller size by accident and I dont think the bigger one would work out at all. Have had 4 vaginal births and closer to 40 than 30 and have extremely heavy periods. Day 2 I have to change it regularly but its very comfortable and haven't had a leak issue at all once I have gotten used to it.
