To hire a cleaner

Raven88 · 10/05/2018 21:25

Me and my DH both work full time and I'm sick of spending my days off cleaning. I could easily afford it and I live in a 1 bed small flat. I feel silly wanting a cleaner when I have such a small flat and it only takes a few hours. Am I being lazy?

If you can afford it, do it. We live in a big detached house with 2 small children, but hiring a cleaner was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. She is so much faster than me and it’s given us back time we never realised we were missing. I wish I’d found her sooner.

If you want one and can afford it, do it.
So what if you're being lazy?
If being lazy means someone gets a few hours of paid work, then I'm all for it.

Can u afford it? Do it! I would

It will be the best decision you ever make!

I love my cleaner, do it!

Summertime45 · 10/05/2018 21:44

Even if it takes 2 to 3 hours I would do it as you can use that time for something else that you enjoy.

We have a cleaner and also pay for ironing; we have 2 children and I only work part time but husband is busy and I don't want to spend Saturdays cleaning. We still have to do cooking, shopping, laundry, tidy up and children stuff so plenty. We also pay for gardener and certain house maintenance as my husband doesn't have much time and I am not going to do it.

I wish I could afford a full time house keeper Grin

Do it! I get one once a month to do a deep clean. Even that makes a big difference. You get what you pay for though. It’s worth investing in someone who is getting paid s decent wage and cares.

Aria999 · 10/05/2018 23:21

Go for it. I got one for my tiny one bed flat in London after seeing another friend who was literally going bankrupt would not give up his cleaner. Have had one ever since. Totally worth it.

If it is something you can easily afford and you want, then what is the issue ?

CoughLaughFart · 10/05/2018 23:24

It’s your money - do it. Who is it you’re worried about upsetting?
