Not really an AIBU but i need a new cooker and have always used gas. My mum is saying electric cookers are much easier to clean, and I do hate cooker cleaning! Is she right?

Electric oven with induction hob - it’s better than gas!

We have a wood burning range with oil backup. By far the best stove I ever owned. Yes it’s big and slow. Yes you need to light a fire every time. But I don’t care I love it

If you aren't used to electric hob, don't if you have the choice. I grew up with it so don't mind and very happy with a wipe-clean ceramic hob, but it's a different experience to gas.
Avoid those stupid touch-pad controls which don't work if your finger or they are damp or greasy, like they will be most of the time.

Oh yes, induction hob, it's brilliant. Very responsive, like gas and dead easy to clean. Had a gas hob in first house, never again - such a faff and difficult to clean, and made kitchen greasy.

Generally a gas hob, electric oven. I've not tried induction, but if they are as responsive, I'd give it a go.

I tried an electric hob and could never get to grips with it.

Induction hob, definitely, they're as good as gas and much easier to clean.

We've recently moved house and now have an induction hob (I've always had gas) and I wasn't sure how I'd get on with it, but it's all the good things about gas (responsive to change in temp) and is far easier to clean! The temp almost instantly goes when the pan is removed so not as much worry for little hands (or big ones!) getting burnt
