When did your child get a pillow, and a duvet (or sheets?)

Dc (22months) has a grobag and cotbed, but I think would be better suited to a pillow and duvet? But, there's no sodding manual for this stuff!

Aibu to think that I haven't got the foggiest when to know when the time is now? Lol 🤔😂

Dd was about 11 months I think! I was trying everything to try to make her sleep comfortably. She never had any truck with a gro bag and would scream if you put her in one but used to get all the covers off.

Ds had a gro bag for quite a long time - beyond 18 months I'm sure. He definitely had the gro bag even when he went into a bed and thinking about it I'm sure he was about 2 when this happened. He didn't like pillows at all for ages

They arent recommended under 1 year due to suffocation risk. Highest tog recommended for cot/cot bed is 4.5tog. Single bed can have up to 10.5tog

When they moved from a cot to a bed, so about 18 months.

From 14 months for a duvet. No pillow yet though.

Dd2 just got a pillow weekend just gone, she’s 13 months and still in her cot and gro bag but I thought she’d like the snuggliness of a pillow. I got the Ikea cot pillow for her, it’s soft but thin. She’ll get a duvet either when she decides she doesn’t like gro bags anymore or like dd1 when she moves into the toddler bed at 3ish.

A flat pillow from quite early, 8 months as she slept better slightly raised and I tried raising the cot on one end or the mattress by using towels and she just slid down the bottom. Duvet a few months after so before 12 months. DD is now nearly 4.

She hated grobags, sleepsuits and anything restrictive Hmm. I just checked on her and she has taken her nightie and pants off in her sleep but is cosy under her duvet Grin.

Our ds had one since we put him on his toddler bed at 17 months

When they shifted to a bed. I reckon they were around two.

I suppose I'll just have to give it a try!

Thanks!

Mine moved to a single bed at 2. I used a sheet and 2.5 tog duvet. Tuck the sheet in at the sides so they can't kick it off or roll out of bed. Start with a toddler pillow. It is flatter so safer.
