Get a lot of traffic here... but I'll ask it as AIBU to wonder....!? Haha
Do you class yourself as well travelled? Could you give a list of countries/areas you have visited. I would go as far as including Tenerife, Majorca, etc as separate as there such different places although both in Spain. Likewise, NY, Florida, Vegas, California, etc as they are all very different. Is there any where you've went back to multiple times. Would be interested to hear everyone's from someone who hasn't travelled much but would love to.

1981m · 09/05/2018 18:36

Can also add guatamala, Russia, Mauritius, turkey.

juneau · 09/05/2018 18:40

Florida is great, but I'd avoid in July/Aug - it's very hot and humid. We've been in Oct and are going again this Oct and it's a great time to go.

Hawaii was our honeymoon.

HungryDuck8 · 09/05/2018 20:23

Forgot Cuba

travelinterest · 09/05/2018 22:44

Cuba and Florida in one break would b amazing. I like hot but maybe not too humid if lot of walking

Have done all continents bare South America and Antarctica. I wish I would have gone to South America as my husband went recently for a work trip but the DCs are too small IMO. I love traveling, but not many opportunities now as a SAHM.

margotsdevil · 09/05/2018 23:09

Relatively well travelled in Europe (multiple cities/areas in France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Finland and Italy as well as visits to the Vatican City, Majorca, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Greece, Rhodes, Turkey, Croatia, Rep. of Ireland and Luxembourg. Also trying to see as much of Canada and the US as possible; in Canada have managed Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec and Ontario. US states are a work in progress but have visited Florida, California, Tennessee, Arizona, New York, New Jersey, Nevada, Washington DC and have trips to Vancouver and Alaska planned.

Australia is in the medium term plan..

Took a year out after uni to travel with my (now) DH and also went inter-railing round Europe aged 18 so consider myself quite well travelled-

in europe Spain (Barcelona, Mallorca and Ibiza) France, Portugal, Ireland, Scotland, Belgium, Germany, Holland, Sweden, Norway, Poland, Switzerland, Italy, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Greece (we did an island hopping trip round Greece on our honeymoon)

rest of the world Egypt, morrocco, South Africa, India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Laos, cambodia, Vietnam, the philippines, Indonesia, Australia, New York, Florida, california, Las Vegas, Mexico, Costa Rica

Next on the list more of South America and I'm currently lusting over the French Polynesian islands but have 4 kids under the age of 10 so think I'll have to hold out for a whilst before any exciting trips. I love love love travelling and have made lots of sacrifices to go on as many trips as possible. Saying that Ive been very lucky to have visited as many places as I have

ShanghaiDiva · 10/05/2018 02:02

I consider myself well travelled - 50 countries, mostly in Asia as I have lived in China for 10 years.

juneau · 11/05/2018 10:40

This thread encouraged me to count up all the US states I've been to and it's 31, plus Puerto Rico!

Branleuse · 11/05/2018 10:52

Seventy plus countries over five continents.
I adore travel . . Love the people and cultures out there. Very lucky that I've worked in the field most of my life

travelinterest · 15/05/2018 10:47

What year did you all first go abroad (1996) and how often per year (once/twice)

OP posts:
juneau · 15/05/2018 12:45

1974 to Switzerland (I was 6 months old).

I go abroad four or five times a year. Usually a couple of long weekends, a week skiing and one longer holiday.

liz70 · 15/05/2018 12:54

UK, France, Switzerland (briefly), Belgium, Menorca, Rhodes, Cuba, going to N. Spain this summer. So, not particularly. The budget doesn't always allow for it.

When I was a child one of our games with grandad was to try to name a country he hasn't been to. Between being in the war and the RAF he had been pretty much everywhere we could think of. I remember shouting "Madagascar" and being convinced I'd finally come up with one he hadn't visited, but he had.
