Roast chicken with a big green salad and a small spoon of coleslaw followed by a white chocolate and raspberry cookie

ScaredPAD · 09/05/2018 16:30

I had a Tilda rice and beans in a bag - I've a separate thread to ask if it was healthy !!

I'm looking for healthy lunch ideas:) (but I do love halloumi!)

OreoMini · 09/05/2018 16:30

Muffin and a cup of tea Grin

KimchiLaLa · 09/05/2018 16:33

A scrambled egg wrap. Some muppets would call it a breakfast burrito, but it's a scrambled egg wrap. With some cheese.

YayImALlamaAgain · 09/05/2018 16:39

I’ve been avidly reading this thread to see how many people actually admin to having unhealthy lunches - cheesy, mayo coveree bacon pasta with a bag of monster munch, a bag of minstrels and a regular coke. Wink

Although having said that, I actually did only have chicken salad today Grin

namaste86 · 09/05/2018 16:39

I had poached egg on toast with mushrooms, followed by lemon yoghurt. OJ, water and tea to drink.

Gave DS (14m) a boiled egg on toast and he looked like a gave him a plate of poison Hmm instead he had bread and butter, cheese, pear and 2 toddler oat cookies.

midnightmisssuki · 09/05/2018 16:43

Steak and fried peppers, with mushroom black pepper sauce. Might do a cauliflower burger as we have some in the fridge that needs using.

KevinTurvey · 09/05/2018 16:43

I had a pork pie and coleslaw, very boring (and unhealthy) compared to some on here Blush

DoAsYouWouldBeMumBy · 09/05/2018 16:47

I had two sandwich thins (one brown, one seeded) filled with hummus, grated carrot, red onion, sliced grape, yellow pepper, spinach and a splash of balsamic vinegar. A huge mug of tea and strawberry yoghurt. I'd had a bowl of fruit before the gym at noon, as a kind of starter. God, it was delicious, that lunch. Starving again now Grin

mammynowanauntyIRL · 09/05/2018 16:53

Is mumsnet gone halloumi mad? I've bought it before and it ended up going off or au pair ate it so I've yet to taste it!

I had half a nutri salad from Aldi(other half yesterday) has edamame beans/quinoa/seeds/nuts and comes with a pesto dressing I topped it with half an avocado, cherry tomatoes, a snack cucumber and some chicken, yesterday I'd the same with smoked salmon instead of chicken.

I'm going to study the wrapper to see what it contained to make myself

malpa · 09/05/2018 17:44

Maybe I should clarify... Most meals here seem to be a lot healthier than the Mars Bar, bottle of Coke and bag of prawn cocktail crisps I had for lunch.

Halloumi (particularly reduced-fat halloumi) is quite healthy, in moderation of course. It seems to be popular here and most people mentioned having it in/with salad, hence my (tongue in cheek) pp. Obviously, if you're all eating blocks of halloumi every day then that's as bad as eating junk food.

OP, you still haven't told us about your lunch!

Katedotness1963 · 09/05/2018 17:49

Skipped lunch. Had a glass of wine while watching FIAB, now want to put the contents of the fridge between two slices of bread...

Katedotness1963 · 09/05/2018 17:49

I must try halloumi!

ScaredPAD · 09/05/2018 18:36

Hmmm does everywhere sell snack cucumbers? I need some!

And Aldi nitro salad smells nice.

ScaredPAD · 09/05/2018 18:36

Gosh my typos :( aldi nutri salad sounds nice.

whoopsiedaisies · 09/05/2018 19:59

I had a chicken sandwich with a bag of crisps and cheese and onion dip... not healthy, no halloumi and no boiled eggs! Will up my game tomorrow lunch time

My chicken and giant couscous salad was amazing @CadyHeron!! Serve with a wee bit of balsamic and add some extra crunchy bits (spring onions & pine nuts for me) - yum yum!

mammynowanauntyIRL · 10/05/2018 05:40

ScaredPAD snack cucumber only come out at a certain time of the year, they're seedless, Lidl have them as well as Aldi, it was nice 👍🏼

mellowW · 10/05/2018 05:53

A Double Whopper with big fries. Something about flying makes me crave junk food!

stayingaliveisawayoflife · 10/05/2018 06:33

Yesterday garlic and herb prawns with beetroot and feta salad on sprouting seeds with cherry tomatoes and some salmon caviar on top.

Today can't be bothered so will be salad or sandwich from Sainsbury's!

Polgara2 · 10/05/2018 06:47

Two dry ryvita and a packet of skips yesterday as I left the rest in the fridge! I shall attempt to do better today.

Usuallytootiredbuthappyanyway · 10/05/2018 06:54

Just made mine for today, salad with corn, grated carrot, lettuce, ham and cherry toms. Mixed a fat free vinaigrette with low fat creek fraiche for a dressing. Bag of salt and vinegar snack a jacks as well. Have also packed a pot of raspberries and blueberries with yoghurt but I may eat that for breakfast depending on how early I get in/how hungry I feel. If not that will be a 4pm snack.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 10/05/2018 09:13

Today curried chicken salad - chopped roast chicken, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, scallions, raisins, red apple, curry powder and extra light mayo with a toasted garlic and herb ciabatta is it lunchtime yet? Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 10/05/2018 09:19

Oooo mammy now I know what I'm having for lunch thank you!
