Hi all I have a breast lump for about four months its movable when pressed yesterday I had a checkup at the breast clinic they could feel it but nothing showed up on ultrasound so they are putting it down to fatty tissue.. could it be actually breast cancer im worried they have made a mistake..should I be worried? Im only 26

You’ve had the lump checked out professionally and they say it’s not a tumor. Not sure quite what you expect from mumsnet posters? If you are worried, we won’t make you less so. Perhaps a second opinion to ease your mind?

Highly likely to be fatty tissue. I had an ultrasound done too. You can request a mammogram but they hurt like fuck apparently and may not work very well with your age (I was 30 and they didn’t want to give me one so ultrasounded me instead) but you can push for one if needed. I honestly wouldn’t worry though - fatty tissue is really common in ye olde jugganaughts

If they’re not worried, you shouldn’t be worried

Reading with interest as I had the same thing 2.5 years ago - now I'm breastfeeding again I keep feeling the lump again when latching the baby on, and it's stressing me out. Have made another doctor's appointment even though DP thinks i'm mad!

Flowers OP, it is so worrying when you find a lump.

Hi Cazz10.
I have had both breast cysts and a tumour.
The tumour was hard with rough edges and you couldn't move it around.
They are probably right about fatty tissue.
Hope that helps

I had the same thing nearly 10 years ago - I was 21. Obviously the amount of time that has passed since indicates that the diagnosis was correct. I remember reading at the time that only 1 in 10 breast lumps are cancer.

Thanks its reassuring to know that others had something similar and all turned out to be fine
