I’m knackered all the time, I have been for years. I get plenty of sleep. I’ve tried iron supplements. Can anyone recommend anything that might help?

Exercise.

Seems hard work at the time, but leaves me feeling frisky the rest of the time.

Eolian · 06/05/2018 15:00

Yup. Running.

abc12345 · 06/05/2018 15:04

Every day?

Eolian - yes. Running is not for me, but any form of exercise is great.

And it's each to their own, whether running, or Body Combat or swimming or yoga. Anything that pushes our strength, endurance, builds muscle, makes us fitter.
I am approaching 60 year old. I take stairs 2 at a time. I have a 6 pack. I am a size 10. I exercise 4 or 5 times a week, have done for decades. I feel about 22 years old.

speakout · 06/05/2018 15:07

I aim for 4 X 1 hour exercise a week sometimes more, sometimes less.

resetEntries · 06/05/2018 15:11

Exercise and diet and habit.

I hate running but cycle to work 99% of the time. I play tennis and swim and surf and walk to the shops.

I eat well but am never on a diet as such.

I job up stairs, I walk somewhere if possible (quickly), I get out of bed as soon as I wake up and do physical things.

Eolian · 06/05/2018 15:14

God no, not every day. I get injured if I overdo it. But I already walk my dog for an hour or two every day anyway, so I'm not inactive on my non-running days.

ivykaty44 · 06/05/2018 15:15

Exercise, I can only run 3km so opt to cycle instead, walk to work, swim before work.

It’s great for the body both inside and out, skin, hair, nails, great for sex life, hormones etc

DioneTheDiabolist · 06/05/2018 15:15

Music. Turning off screens and turning up the radio boosts my energy.

UpstartCrow · 06/05/2018 15:15

Have you had a check up and blood tests?

agentdaisy · 06/05/2018 15:21

Extra high strength vitamin D and omega 3 supplements boosts my energy, along with limiting coffee to maximum 2 a day.

Last year I tried exercise to boost my energy and all it did was made me more exhausted. It turns out my vitamin D levels were almost non existant but a course of insanely high strength vitamin D sorted it and I've carried on with vitamin D supplements and added omega 3.

Eating low carb, alwAys fe3l sluggish and sleepy after eating carbs.

Being with friends.

dancemom · 06/05/2018 15:28

Exercise - never thought I'd say that but I have the bug now!

abc12345 · 06/05/2018 15:29

I’d love to get up and exercise but I can’t drag myself out of bed in the morning let alone jump on a bike!

I’ve had blood tests at the go and she said everything was normal. I don’t think they did vit d though. Do they do that at the dr??

Yes, this too. I started low carbing 3 weeks ago and was feeling really great. Failed last night for the first time by eating lots of chocolate biscuits and feel utterly sluggish and feeble today. Can't seem to motivate myself to do anything.

sharkirasharkira · 06/05/2018 16:57

The sun.

When the sun is out, even in the winter, I feel energised and full of life. I bounce out of bed (ish) ready to do stuff and be productive.

Also exercise, but not as much and I have to reeeeally push myself to do it sometimes Grin

MyOtherUsernameisaPun · 06/05/2018 16:58

Running. Download couch to 5K and do it 3 times per week. It only takes half an hour at the start. It. Will. Change. Your. Life. I lost 23 pounds, cured my insomnia and feel like a whole new person because I have so much more energy. And when I started I was the world's biggest exercise sceptic and couldn't even run for a minute. Now I can run 7K!

Idontbelieveinthemoon · 06/05/2018 17:02

Exercise, running especially, always helps. I've not been to the gym since Thursday as the DCs have been off school and I feel all frustrated and pent-up.

The other thing is loads of water every day; I drink at least 4 litres and it definitely gives me a boost.

RoseWhiteTwat · 06/05/2018 17:03

Gin

BrownTurkey · 06/05/2018 17:06

Exercise at least every other day, low sugar low alcohol diet, eat just enough but not too much, de-stress with yoga, vit D, magnesium, HRT. Know my limits.

dancemom · 06/05/2018 17:15

@abc12345 I was like that, couldn't drag myself out of bed at 7am for work but now my alarm goes off at 5:45 and I'm up, running clothes on and out the door for 6am. I'm sleeping so much better too.

niceupthedance · 06/05/2018 17:25

Not eating sugar and white carbs

Yoga

Music

abc12345 · 11/05/2018 22:23

Thanks for your suggestions.

Do any of you manage to exercise at home? I have little ones so I can’t just go for a run anytime I fancy it (which actually is never!)
