I think it's overrated if I'm honest.
I don't like mushrooms.
Have never eaten a prawn 😬

fassone · 04/05/2018 10:49

I saw the last Star Wars film when I was going through my 'so horny I'll hump the chairs' stage of my pregnancy. Kylo Ren just about tipped me over the edge!

Grin

I don’t have an excuse.
I had to watch it twice because I was so distracted by him first time around I missed some important stuff. Blush

Carboholic · 04/05/2018 10:52

I've watched all the Star Wars films. As far as I can see, it's about a tax dispute.

Are you my DH?! He got really worked up about what exactly is the farmers' problem with the Empire, and how that huge state is taxed and managed, and what is the structure of the local government, and what is it trying to say about agricultural and economic systems.

I thought it was not trying to say anything, that was the main problem with the series.

NotTheMrMenAgain · 04/05/2018 11:07

I bloody love Star Wars Grin

Rocking my R2 handbag today (special occasions only!) Got a themed t-shirt and hoodie on, forgot the knickers.

There are plenty of things other folk enjoy that I think are bollocks - reality TV, prosecco and soaps among them - but as my DG used to say "It wouldn't do for us all to be the same, would it?"

Bus driver obviously is a fan - look at my ticket Grin

NotTheMrMenAgain · 04/05/2018 11:12

Technology fail - photo won't load!

Ticket says I've got a 'Jedi Daysaver Grin

corcaithecat · 04/05/2018 11:29

Crap, I totally forgot to say it to my DS this morning so I've written on his blackboard instead. ShockGrin

MrsJayy · 04/05/2018 11:32

Oops you might be on myfacebook and I am annoying you with my may the forth bollox sorry not sorry Grin

Mrsfrumble · 04/05/2018 11:33

High-fives fellow Kylo devotees.

Adam Driver is a work of art.

It's only one day OP. And tomorrow of course, which is Revenge of the Fifth.

MissionItsPossible · 04/05/2018 11:34

I've never seen any Star Wars. Jar Jar Binks put me off but everyone says he's a crap character anyway and that nobody, not even the Star Wars fans like him.

TheStoic · 04/05/2018 11:34

Can’t see the appeal, myself. Not my cup of tea AT all.

MrsJayy · 04/05/2018 11:34

Kylo is a total brat though I don't get the love

MadisonAvenue · 04/05/2018 11:41

Tried watching one (from the 70s) a few years ago because my husband and son were watching it, having got to my 40s without seeing any of them, and gave up after 15 minutes. Really don't see the appeal.

KingLooieCatz · 04/05/2018 13:48

Went to a scif-fi convention this year as Princess Leia in camouflage for forest of Endor, and got to pose for a photo on a replica speeder bike, with forest back drop. I felt life was pretty complete at that moment.

DH held coats and bags.

DS, in an outfit that was niche even for a sci-fi convention, was given a sweetie by Sylvester McCoy, who he didn't recognize.

Wish I'd discovered sci-fi conventions years ago.

Mercurial123 · 04/05/2018 14:04

I love Star Wars especially the older films they are just magical. It's not compulsory to like it. I'm mystified about the love for Ant and Dec on here but you know not everyone thinks like me.

mancmummy1414 · 04/05/2018 14:16

I hate Star Wars and all the May 4th bollocks (actually pissed off cause I thought it was the 5th today so one day closer to my payday... nope) I also hate that 20/4 stoner day. And prawns and mushrooms. I hate a lot of things. But not moaning. I like moaning.

WomanEqualsAdultHumanFemale · 04/05/2018 14:35

But not moaning. I like moaning.

Grin you’re in good company.

NoSuchThingAsAlpha · 04/05/2018 14:38

At least the kids don't have to dress up as Star Wars characters like bleedin' World Book Day.

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 04/05/2018 14:39

Yeah I agree op. It was a clever soundbite but boring now. Like a joke, only funny the first time.

morningconstitutional2017 · 04/05/2018 15:00

We all like different things - I can't understand the appeal of Star Wars, Star Trek, Dr Who, or any science fiction, etc.

But then I expect some people wouldn't understand why I like Call the Midwife, The Durrells, Gardeners' World etc.

DownAtFraggleRock · 04/05/2018 15:31

May the 4th be with you is old hat.

tomorrow = Revenge of the 5th

Grin
YouBetterWORK · 04/05/2018 15:32

DD was in a Star Wars babygro and a crochet hat with the Leia buns on for her first convention last month, I've loved Star Wars since I was about 13.

I don't like other stuff, like towie, and that Chelsea thing. Or Love Island, reality tv, talent contests like x factor, or soaps. Which sucks because they're fairly popular so it would probably be a good ice breaker subject in baby groups. Not many of the mums look like they'd be up for discussing the upcoming Solo film, or the latest episode of The Flash. But meh such is life, we all like/dislike stuff.

WrongOnTheInternet · 04/05/2018 16:26

I loved the first three Star Wars. In comparison to this series, I like the 2nd series too (Jar Jar and whiny child notwithstanding). This series is like Matrix the third - crap - and it's basically a rehash of the first series story. Kylo Ren is far too young for me even if I could look past the temper tantrums.

But it's Star Wars so I'm going to watch it and enjoy it anyway. Smile

TSSDNCOP · 04/05/2018 16:33

I have never been as jealous in my entire life as when Rae got to fly the Millennium Falcon.

I like prawns, but not cous cous. Grainy, tasteless and vom coloured.

tillytrotter1 · 04/05/2018 16:48

Never seen it, or any other sci-fi stuff, is it the film or that thing on TV? In 2.5 weeks of trotting round Disney/Universal with the family I saw more sci-fi than I've ever seen, still can't understand it, much to the amazement of my 6 year old grandson.
I wouldn't even go to see Chariots of Fire at first because I thought it was sci-fi!

Eolian · 04/05/2018 16:54

Well of course YANBU. Not everyone likes the same films . YABU to be pissed off about May 4th - how does it impinge on your life exactly?

Oh and Kylo Ren? Seriously? Bleurgh!
