To think “Pornstar Martini???” Ughhh!

I don’t consider myself to be prudish in general, but I just received an email from Miller & Carter Steakhouse, saying:

“Another bank holiday is on it’s way, and with the lighter nights and warmer weather, it’s a great chance to indulge a little with our perfectly crafted cocktails, exquisite food, and create more special memories with friends and family.

So toast the holiday with our signature Pornstar Martini.....”

AIBU to think that’s just a bit unnecessary? It’s like someone trying to be all big and clever.

Yes, I’d love to treat my family to a Pornstar Martini....it’s my daughter’s favourite restaurant....we can all experience the glamour of being a porn star together as a family...happy bank holiday!

(Yes, I know it’s not for children...I just think it’s all a bit ....🤮)

They have chosen that as the “signature” of their restaurant.

Fair enough! I don’t have an Evoque btw I think they’re a bit style over substance. Not a Mercedes fan myself. Would love a Bristol, but unfortunately my Dad doesn’t have one...

I already addressed the horrible “it’s” - it was my fault as I used voice text and didn’t correct it. It is mortifying for me, but I’ll own up - that was not them!

I doubt Purdey make over and unders. If they do, they hold their noses while they are taking your hundred grand.

Well, Obi, my OP was not “I’d love to order one but I don’t want to say the name” I just didn’t think it was a great thing to email to everyone for advertising fun times with your family.

Whether or not I like passion fruit has nothing to do with it, not least as before this very informative thread I didn’t know what one was.

...and I wouldn’t really say this is a “fuss” - I’ve not started a national campaign or complained to my MP.

I just started a discussion - isn’t that what you do on AIBU- and got told by most people yes I am BU apparently, which is fine! No fuss!

Somewhat surprised that cocktail names fly as well as they do. It's a bit try-hard, isn't it? Reminds me of sixth-form days when everyone was desperate to impress their friends with their familiarity with sexual slang.
