DP is cycling from here to Paris to raise money for charity. Basically he is ill-trained and ill prepared! We're just trying to pack a bag. I've bought him "bum cream" lots of factor 50, aftersun, deep heat and blister plasters...
any advice on other things to pack? (Apart from a miracle)

Get a camera helmet if he hasn't already. I speak from very bitter experience.

I hope he doesn't really well and enjoys it!

He says thank you. He feels more organised already. I feel slightly less panicked! All good.

My DP is an ex pro cyclist and his tips beyond what you have already been given are:

If gels give you the trots jelly babies are a really good alternative, he can not do gels and has cycled thousands of miles on jelly babies.

Haemorrhoid cream if you have even a tiny pile it will become very painful after hours on your bike. You will not get to the second day without it.

Simple bike computer know your pace and stick to it. This will stop you rushing off at the start and not being able to finish.

Be prepared from him to be a wreck at the end of it. DP has done Lejog and he trains hours at a time on the road, track and turbo trainer. At the end he was so sore.
