Not so much aibu more like HELP! I've been steadily losing my hair for the past 2 years.. It's so thin and won't grow. Looking back at pictures from 5 years ago it's half the length and thickness it once was. Ive tried tons of scalp serums, oils and vitamins and i cant say anything has really worked. Can you share with me your hair secrets?

I heard biotin is great for hair growth. I took it after having my baby for the post partum hair loss.

This was a year ago and you can really tell the difference. Especially in thickness. Sorry about the dodgy photo!

I hear you tortellini compared to how it was just 12 months ago it really is. Does anything help you?

Is it thin on your scalp?
After I had my second child mine fell out and just carried on. It's very thin on top now. Had blood tests, all normal. Gp said hormonal

tortelliniforever · 26/04/2018 19:54

No unfortunately not. Hope you find something that works.

FASH84 · 26/04/2018 19:58

OP I have PCOS and thus high testosterone levels, which has all kinds of side effects, the only positive one is thick head hair , don't even ask about the rest of it. Yasmin is the contraceptive often given to PCOS women, it has anti androgens and brings testosterone down I was on it for five years, came off recently and feel like a constantly PMT yeti. So definitely worth asking to change pill, add this could be linked to your hair loss, if you didn't have a hormone imbalance in the first place.

FASH84 · 26/04/2018 20:02

Realised that's not super clear if you don't have PCOS one of the symptoms is excess hair growth, Yasmin counteracts that

Sunkist12 · 26/04/2018 20:04

Thanks for letting me know fash i had absolutely no idea that Yasmin could possibly be the reason. If anything I always assumed the pill was some kind of hair skin and nails saviour. I'm going to have a good read up on this but will definitely consider changing

I had thin, non growing hair. I got Nano ring extensions and they changed my life!!! Painless, hassle free, easy to maintain (albeit slightly expensive) but finally got the hair I'd always dreamed of.
Also my hair is growing and getting in great condition while I have them in cause not using heat on my hair anymore, only the extensions

Sunkist12 · 26/04/2018 20:10

This was my thought also. do you get any extra hair loss with them? Considering watermans grow me

OP posts:
Welshgal1 · 26/04/2018 21:51

Nope! When you go for maintenance and they take them out and put them back in it looks like you've lost so much hair, but that's just all the hair you've lost over the last few months all coming out as it stays in the nano rings so don't panic. X

Are you on Antidepressants OP? I was on citalopram (.sp?) Years ago and it made my hair fall out.

Thyroxine! Such a difference. I have bonded extensions which make a million times difference. It's made me realise why nobody can get tv hair in real life. I also take B12 which has helped with regrowth.
