About a year ago I witnessed a crash. The driver was ok and shaken and I had to pull her out of her upside down car. The accident was caused by a lorry going around the outside lane around a roundabout and just tipped the back of her car. The ralisation of how little a force a lorry has to touch a car to flip it and noticing many mistakes by lorry drivers has made me petrified of them. I will drive but panic passing lorries so follow slow behind. If im a passanger and we pass a lorry I close my eyes and grip the seat belt. It is getting worse and worse and I am worried ill be like my mil qho wont drive on motorways and only routes she knows well. I was a confident driver before. Not overly to the point of being dangerour but I feel so uptight I feel dangerous. Any suggestions?

It was really good of you to help the people involved in the accident.

It may help to see a counsellor for a few sessions to help you come to terms with what you witnessed and then you'll be able to move on.

Wishing you well.

See your GP as soon as you can to be referred to a counsellor, don’t let this control you, you need to take control of it, CBT could be really helpful and don’t ever forget you did a very wonderful thing but are now possibly suffering some PTSD. Wishing you all the best xxxxx
