Need inspiration!

A green salad and a tomato salad.

Quiche needs no additional carbs because of the pastry.

No wonder there is an obesity problem in the UK.

Answer also depends what type of quiche it is - if it has tomatoes in it then I wouldn't do a tomato salad as well.

Cornishclio · 25/04/2018 15:46

I would go for new potatoes and salad or maybe sweet potato wedges.

Stinkbomb · 25/04/2018 15:47

Jacket potato or wedges & salad.

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 25/04/2018 15:49

Potatoes. Of course it needs additional carbs - they're yum!

QueenOfMyWorld · 25/04/2018 15:50

Don't forget to heat the quiche in the oven.Yum!

tigerrun · 25/04/2018 15:50

Just salad, a big fancy one or a green one plus a tomato, sliced mozzarella and basil one (with a balsamic dressing) - no need to double up on the carbs surely - that would be like having pasta and rice or pizza and potatoes!?

tigerrun · 25/04/2018 15:51

Saying that I would love a potato salad with it (just spotted that suggestion) so maybe double carb it up, why not!

Katedotness1963 · 25/04/2018 15:52

Salad and coleslaw.

ThanksForAllTheFish · 25/04/2018 15:53

This time of year: Savoury rice (ie: golden vegetable packet stuff) or boiled potatoes with some sort of veg. My first choice would be cabbage but as DH and DD aren’t all that keen it would most likely be sweet corn.

On a warm summer day it would be salad and coleslaw or potato salad.

CousinKrispy · 25/04/2018 15:53

You should serve new potatoes and salad with it, and then I'd yell at you for not providing an additional vegetable to eat alongside the (vegetable-filled) quiche. Oh wait, that's what my dick of a to-be-ex-husband did and isn't actually a requirement for a nice normal human being. Haha can't wait for him to move out!!

geekymommy · 25/04/2018 15:55

Salad and bread.

dragonator · 25/04/2018 15:55

Well I never knew quiche and potatoes was a no-go for so many. There's not a lot of carbs on a slice is there?

I like it with new potatoes or crusty bread with salad, or chips and frozen peas!

Bumbumtaloo · 25/04/2018 15:57

I always have cheese and onion quiche, chips and beans with a load of salad cream. My ultimate comfort food.

Chlokinson · 25/04/2018 16:00

I have it with a jacket potato, ham, salad and coleslaw.

AdaColeman · 25/04/2018 16:00

Chips and/or salad.

ifonly4 · 25/04/2018 16:05

On a nice summers day, homemade potato salad and salad, maybe couscous as well depending on my mood or numbers. On a colder day, maybe with jacket potato and even carrots and peas.

Ronnyhotdog · 25/04/2018 16:06

New potatoes, are Jersey royals out yet? Salad and coleslaw. Wish that’s what we were having.

GerdaLovesLili · 25/04/2018 16:07

Buttery new potatoes and salad.

allchangenochange · 25/04/2018 16:07

Salad and maybe garlic bread.

RiskIt4Biscuit · 25/04/2018 16:09

I'd serve a quiche with salad.
Maybe also some vegetables - like broccoli, asparagus or grilled tomatoes (or whatever else suits the quiche filling).

whoopsiedaisies · 25/04/2018 16:10

@MsHomeSlice that sounds delicious- that's what we're having

OP posts:
Rudgie47 · 25/04/2018 16:43

I'd serve it with Rennies or Gaviscon.

Therealjudgejudy · 25/04/2018 16:52

Large green salad and maybe crusty brown graniery bread. Love quiche

MrsJayy · 25/04/2018 16:55

Chips/wedges and salad meh to carbs

Bramble71 · 25/04/2018 16:57

I'd love to say all the healthy things the ladies in the thread have mentioned. In reality, it's probably likely to be baked beans.
