I posted a thread yesterday about how I'm struggling to come to terms with possibly not wanting to have kids any more. One of the things I mentioned was that I feel so sorry for parents who post on here about difficulties they are having with their kids. One lovely MNer made the very sensible point that this site is skewed towards showing the bad side more than the good because people (very understandably) come here for advice when things are difficult.

I don't want to at all undermine posts asking for help because they are obviously so important and such a good part of the support this site offers. But I thought it might also be nice to have a thread for people to show off a bit about lovely, thoughtful, funny, sweet etc things their children / the children in their lives have done!

I have one about my nephew to start. He's 3, and literally every time he sees an animal like a cat or whatever, he'll say 'mummy, that is my FAVOURITE cat!' It's so sweet and funny ❤️

My ds, nearly three, tells me I'm cute! He saw his 8 year old sister waiting to be served by the ice cream van and said 'awwww mol cute'! 😂

I remember the first night in hospital with DD. I was just looking in awe at this magical, tiny person, almost scared to touch her. She was crying and couldn't sleep so I picked her up. She snuggled into me and fell asleep instantly, as if I was all she needed in the world. It felt like the biggest privilege ever.

(Spending the next six months awake with her sleeping on my chest because I was too scared to sleep like that did not feel like the biggest privilege ever, however... Wink )

DS (16) makes me a cup of tea every morning, evening and night without fail. We go to town every Saturday and he usually buys me something from the M&S cafe ("nah mum, I'll pay it's sound" Grin).

I spent the night in hospital with my son after a bad asthma attack, trying to get his oxygen levels up. He's 4.

The nurse gave him a choice of teddy bear to take home, he chose the purple one because it's his sister's favourite colour. Today he wrapped it and gave it to her. She's 3, she was thrilled with it, she said "but what about your present?" He said "I don't need a present, I'm fine."

Smile They are a handful but moments like that just bring it home how absolutely amazing they are.

Picked DD (4) from nursery yesterday and she started crying in the car. Asked her what was wrong and she said it was because she missed me when she was at school.
