Does anyone agree that we are labelling everything and everyone too much? And by doing this we are segregating ourselves even further, the more we label?
Race, gender, religion, age, class. It’s become crazy. The less we label, the more connected we will all become, right? Because the more we point out our differences, the more people are looking to find flaws and blame their differences for the misfortune that arises in everyone’s life.
We want to be equal, we are all humans. We are not going to get equality by pointing out and labelling everyone and everything. We are all aware of our differences.

Get that chip off your shoulder, stop living your life as a colour/gender/religion/age and start living life as the human that you are.
Please someone more articulate come along.

they are right I probably would get a job in that company after reapplying

not were I work - they use a point system that's fairly rigorous - people aren't hired for complaining!

Idontdowindows · 23/04/2018 22:28

You need to give specific examples OP, because the "professionally offended" are usually highly privileged individuals who are offended on behalf of others, usually people who have every right to be offended at the discrimination they are facing.

But in your eyes, people in wheelchairs are "professionally offended" if they dedicate their lives to pointing out the discrimination they suffer?

RoundaboutSnail · 23/04/2018 22:30

Are you new here OP?

Ponderingme · 23/04/2018 22:34

People in wheelchairs, there are many who have worked themselves up to good career, sheer determination and resilience. There is a will there is a way. The same with other people from ethnic minorities. I will one day be that person, but that is because I will not give up at first hurdle and blame my race or asthetics at that hurdle. We are all human and if we start living our lives as one instead of boxing ourselves into little segments at every misfortune, it will be more progressive.
It has to be better than this, it is spiralling out of control. Label for this, label for that.

I’m brown! You are white! That is great, do you need to keep telling me I am brown! It is no problem to me, but a big problem to you. The more you tell me it is a problem, the more I believe it is

Oh yes, because if 1 person can do something, then EVERYONE can do it and disabled people should just shut up about being discriminated against.

Good lord.

ghostyslovesheets · 23/04/2018 22:40

OP I'm not sure you understand your own post! Because self determination and identifying what are issues FOR YOU are what you seem to be wanting yet arguing against!

RoundaboutSnail · 23/04/2018 22:42

I’m brown! You are white!

How do you know what colour everyone on a forum is? Confused

That is great, do you need to keep telling me I am brown!

Actually you told us Hmm

Biscuit for the Daily Fail while we're at it...

Idontdowindows · 23/04/2018 22:43

That is great, do you need to keep telling me I am brown!

Except what you are saying is that you want YOU to stop saying you're brown.

Gilead · 23/04/2018 22:44

This is not an argument, it's just a bit of an incoherent ramble. Confused

MrsTerryPratchett · 23/04/2018 23:10

Sorry you didn't get the job. Your family sound like they're trying to make you feel better. Thanks

Racism and sexism are real. Resilience helps the individual but class analysis is necessary to change the system.
