Have posted similar before but am a bit obsessed.
Mine are spoiled, and as I have no children, I am unapologetic for the money I spend on them.

My cats:
have a cashmere blanket each
have 800 thread count sheets on their day bed
have quarterly vet check ups to nip any health issues in the bud ( old and a bit doddery)
eat organic meat from the farm shop at the weekend
drink filtered water.

We got them for free, but have spent a fortune on them over the years - we can afford to and it makes me very happy to do so.

We also bought our house because it has the ideal, safe environment for cats. The kitchen and layout is a bit crap for humans.

There are 6 beds between 2 rooms, 2 of which have orthopaedic foam mattresses. We chose the garden bench so they can both fit on there with us. If my dh goes to work very early, they run up to the bedroom for snuggles.

flowerslemonade · 22/04/2018 22:48

my hamster liked to eat prawns and she also tried salmon. she had a hamster mansion which was a massive see through box from IKEA. she ran on a silent spinner (miles and mile) whirring through the air. i also nursed her and put eye drops in for her. RIP prammy.

Our cat has his own bed and blankets but much prefers our bed. He has his food ordered online (special diet due to medical conditions) and he will only drink cat milk not water. He hates being wet and so if he gets caught in the rain I have to wipe his paws and dry him off or he whinges. He has a favourite chair which is also DHs favourite chair so he will nudge and manoeuvre till he wins. Just like everyone else here with fur babies he gets many birthday and Xmas presents.

BBTHREE76 · 22/04/2018 23:16

Ooh I forgot... we have quite a long lounge so he has a large scratching post at either end, and a scratching chaise longe.

HundredMilesAnHour · 22/04/2018 23:16

I have a dwarf hamster that sulks if I don't make her toast for breakfast. It has to be Vogel Soya & Linseed with organic butter or she turns her noise up at it.

She also likes ice cream every few days but will only eat organic hand made ice cream from the farm shop (50 miles away) in lavender or vanilla flavours.

This is all my own fault for spoiling her.

I used to have a pony, who on show days, if I woke her at 5am would not move until I bought her a mug of tea and a ginger biscuit. Then expected a galaxy caramel after each class.

Another pony who when hacking would get to a certain pub and stand still- the landlord would bring her out a half of lager in a bucket. If anyone is ever hacking in Cornwall I will tell you where the pub is that serves free beer to horses!

I always think that mine are spoiled but obviously not! 😉 There are four baskets plus one in the bedroom between six dogs but they prefer the sofas and bed - they do get shoved over though. The cats spend the day outside; Phoebe comes in at night but Gwyn is in and out. They do have a double decker bed each in the kitchen but Phoebe prefers to lurk in the dog kennel outside and Gwyn in the farm byre or the stables if they're both not in the fields hunting.

Lidl tins as they're very meaty but Aldi dry dog food as it's rice based; Bonio for breakfast and Aldi marrowbone roll for after dinner and at bedtime. Cats get Lidl meat sticks and Aldi "dreamies". All are on the vet plan so they do get their quarterly check ups. The dogs have individual hi-viz coats with fleece lining made for them. However most of their stuff is bog-standard stuff.

While my previous dogs loved the river round the garden, this lot won't touch water even when they're melting so the paddling pool was a waste of money. I'm thinking of a small trampoline and enclosure though.

Two of the dogs don't go out on walks - one because her deformed leg won't let her walk far without tiring and the other because she is still too traumatised to have a lead or harness on. They do enjoy pootling round the garden though. I'm thinking about a buggy for vet visits and if I need to get all six of them somewhere quickly.

The cat gets fuss and love from me even if he’s been a little bastard terrorising the other members of the household Grin I’m his mum, he’s nice to me.

Doggo often gets waffles and bacon of a weekend if the kids can’t manage them all (I make stacks of the things!)

LackOfAdhesiveDucks · 23/04/2018 01:45

Horse2 saw the chiropractor AND the massage therapist last week. I’ve never been to either but he sees both relatively regularly.

Both horses have more rugs than I have jackets and more skin care/grooming products than me too. Horse1 has the yard owner and most liveries trained to give her a bit of whatever their eating as they walk by (biscuits, apple, sweets, crisps (her favourite), cake etc) and Horse2 has one of the other liveries who makes him special homemade treats and takes them to him in his field every time she’s at the yard.

They’re ridiculously spoiled but I love them!

vampirethriller · 23/04/2018 07:46

My dog won't eat dog food so she has fresh meat cooked for her. She has cheeseburger Fridays. (without the onion.)
My budgie is getting on a bit and has a hot water bottle in his cage on cold nights. He gets the radio on whenever I'm out. He will only eat tropical fruit peck bars and I look through them in the shop to find the one with the most pineapple...

Tippytappytoes · 23/04/2018 08:25

Pretty much the whole of ddog life is a luxury. But the best luxury item I have bought him is a sport vibe massage jacket, which helps him when he gets stiff and uncomfortable, which at 13 happens now and again.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 23/04/2018 08:34

Smile at neighbor buying the cat their own sun lounger

Has his own piece of marmite on whole meal toast (no crusts) at weekends

Mine has had his own beds and blankets now has a kingsize bed that he allows me to share only on condition that I stroke him when he wants me to and he is allowed to lay across whenever he likes

Namethecat · 23/04/2018 08:41

She has 2 cat igloos, about 5 other beds ( not including ours that we hang off the edge) if she decides to sleep on. A water fountain, her own toy box. We haven't had a holiday since we got her ( 5 years) as dh calls catterys- cat prison.

LakieLady · 23/04/2018 08:47

Servants. The dog has servants that open the back door for her on demand, even though she can happily use the dog flap when the servants are elsewhere. When the servants are home, she uses it like a door knocker.

When she requires a chest rub she will come and lie on one of the servants, and wriggle about until they massage the right spot. When she wants her bum scratched, she simply comes and barges the servant with her arse until they get the message.

The servants have a rather high bed that the dog can no longer leap up on to. If the servants are asleep, the dog paws at the side of the bed until one of them wakes up and lifts her on to the bed.

Her personal chair, in the bay window. It's a tub chair that is exactly the right size for her. It is positioned just so that she can be on the window sill in a nano second if she hears a noise that she has to investigate. Any human who dares to sit in her chair gets glared at.

The servants get a stony glare if they don't save a bit of their food for her. The male servant is so eager to please her that he sometimes cooks a bit extra for her. She particularly likes spicy food and mashed potato. The servants have to wipe the gravy from her beard after she's eaten.

The female servant is not permitted any privacy, even in the bathroom. Even in the tiny motorhome bathroom, which is only about 2' square. If she dares to shut the door when she goes for a crap, the dog sits outside, glaring.

I thought cats were bad, but this little terrier is absolutely the boss of the house.

Adversecamber22 · 23/04/2018 08:48

Our sadly now deceased hamster used to be let out to run around and DH and DS used to build amazing lego structures.I would like to think her favourite was the Mayan temple the built.

Our cat is currently enjoying attacking the beatiful new rug I bought whenever she can. DH is her total slave and shares his dinner with her most nights if the food is appropriate, she likes rib eye steak. He also has to give her a prolonged stroke every morning before he is allowed to do anything else.

goyuckfourself · 23/04/2018 08:57

The kitten has adopted my favourite fleece jacket as her own. So much so it is usually found on the sofa with the kitten on top of it.

If I ever dare to wear it I can guarantee that within seconds the kitten is snuggled up on me purring away. Like now for instance.

YourVagesty · 23/04/2018 15:16

Oh my god, I can't even think.

But off the top of my head:

  1. bought the cat a dance mat for Christmas (it lights up, he jumps around on it).
  2. bought the dog an i-fetch for Christmas. Cost £150 but its worth it. It throws the ball for him and he can load it himself.
  3. The cats have yoghurt infused with catnip.
  4. the dog has fresh meat from the butchers, plus whatever i'm having, tbh.
  5. the dog has his own chest of drawers full of clothes and fancy leads, lumberjack outfits etc.
  6. Just had the dog DNA tested to find out his ancestry.

That's about it for now. I promise that I'm not actually Paris Hilton.

YourVagesty · 23/04/2018 15:20

Ah! Also forgot that I bought the dog a large paddling pool so that he could float around on a lilo all summer. But he hated it so I ended up chilling in it instead.

Quiettiger · 23/04/2018 16:15

My DH lights the woodburner in the lounge (even if we're going out!) just so that they can lay in front of it and be warm.

We bought our their IKEA sofas with the correct fabric for optimal claw scratch friction and they're not told off for using them as scratch posts. And there is frequently no room for us to sit there as they have hogged them. I've caught DH sitting on the floor so he doesn't disturb them but he would deny this if asked

LittleRedWagon1 · 23/04/2018 16:22

Any food thats not hers; earlier on she managed to get DH's pasta salad (that I'd only just finished putting together), I had turned my back for a second when she pulled the bowl to the floor and tucked in Angry

Other than that, she has a two seater sofa to herself and copious fluffy blankets and pillows (she shreds dog beds!). She also gets fresh scrambled eggs in the morning after her first walk.

LittleRedWagon1 · 23/04/2018 16:24

Oh and we leave a fan on for her, if its warm, if we have to leave her home on her own for a short period of time. She has to go in her crate otherwise she would kill herself doing something dumb and we put the fan pointed to the wall opposite so she gets a nice breeze blown back to her.
