So I found a $4 shirt that I like so much. Would it be insanity to buy ten of them?

No.

thirstyformore · 22/04/2018 07:30

No. I have about 10 pairs of H&M chinos. All different colours etc but same cut. (I may have 2 black pairs).

I wear them all the time for work. At £12.99 you can't go wrong!

Marmalady75 · 22/04/2018 07:44

YANBU. Sometimes I buy a top I like the cut of in different colours. I’ve got jeans that fit great and make my bum look good, so I bought another identical pair.

BeckettsandChapel · 22/04/2018 07:48

If you don’t you won’t be able to find that shirt again, I always say to people you find something you love buy two because you won’t find it again

stressedoutfred · 22/04/2018 08:15

I do this most seasons, find a style I like and buy it in multiple colours Grin

smurfy2015 · 22/04/2018 09:21

Not unreasonable at all sounds like a bargain too,

I bought 5 pairs of trousers all identical about 2 months ago for £7 each so £35 but at their original price they would have been £19.99 so £99.95 saving me £64.95 and because I spent over £30 I got free delivery,

I've had a lot of compliments on them as they are different to what I would normally wear and the material is fab quality, a friend who asked where I got and pricing expected even at original pricing to be a lot higher, she got a pair for herself as well.

DrowningEveryDay · 22/04/2018 09:41

It's just a basic t-shirt like what I always wear and it fits me really nicely. It's from Kmart.

Buy them now before they stop stocking them. You can get underbed storage bags from the cheapjack stores.

LakieLady · 22/04/2018 09:47

Not at all unreasonable! I very much regret not buying several of my favourite summer shirt many years ago. It's a very soft cotton, long, loose shirt that was around a tenner in Sainsburys.

The fabric is very fine cotton, and I know it hasn't many years left in it. I'm so going to miss it when it finally gets too thin to wear!

Aridane · 22/04/2018 09:49

Personally I wouldn’t buy x10identical garments, other than tights

ginghamstarfish · 22/04/2018 11:14

Yes, I've done this. Sometimes you just know that that item will be just right. I just bought 6 pairs trousers - same style, different colours - and will wear them all the time. Not interested in having 'new' all the time, rather things I like, are flattering and comfortable.

MereDintofPandiculation · 22/04/2018 11:17

If they're all identical, possibly don't wear them on 10 consecutive days if you're going to see the same people each day! They'll be at least one person who doesn't immediately think "Oh, she must have 10 of them".

SaucyJack · 22/04/2018 11:20

10 of the same thing seems excessive to me- but I do a washload most days.

YANBU to stick with a style you like tho.

FizzyGreenWater · 22/04/2018 11:22

Maybe not 10 but yes definitely do this.

The number of times I've ended up scouring ebay for another copy of something which really suited/fitted which had worn out (because being the perfect garment I'd obviously worn it constantly)

EmmaGrundyForPM · 22/04/2018 11:28

YANBU

I've got three pairs of expensive suede boo, all identical apart from colour - I've got them in navy, khaki and black. They are the most comfortable boots I've ever had, and they make my legs look longer - what's not to like?

I've also got the same dress in two different colours.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 22/04/2018 11:28

Boots not boo!

VladmirsPoutine · 22/04/2018 11:29

Yanbu. I have 10 different colours of the same type of shirt and skinny jeans. It works for me. It suits and fits well. It's only sensible tbh.

VladmirsPoutine · 22/04/2018 11:31

Same with foundation or moisturiser - if I find it suits and works well for me then I'll buy a whole bunch to keep me going. Why redesign the wheel.

pecannutbutter · 22/04/2018 11:32

Of course not. Do it. Last year I bought seven pairs of the same trousers from The Gap. They'd had the same style, different fabric though, a couple of years previously and I bought one pair and literally wore holes in them. They were so comfortable and nice. I vowed if they ever came back I would stock up so I did. I had one of their 40% vouchers so got almost half off anyway.

flowerslemonade · 22/04/2018 11:34

yeah, just do it, you could store some of them in vacuum bags if you dont wear all of them immediately.

Redcrayons · 22/04/2018 11:36

I bought 3 Tshirt in H&M last year because I loved the fit of them and they £7 each. They were different colours though.

10 seems a little excessive tbh, suppose it depends on how much wear you'd get out of them and how likely you are to get bored of them.

DameDoom · 22/04/2018 11:41

You could just get the nine? Would be less profligate and over the top. I am a total buyer of multiples - I rarely like much stuff nowadays so if I do, I buy in bulk.

DinahMo · 22/04/2018 11:42

What everyone else said, not unreasonable, it’s just eminently sensible. I do this with basics - tshirts/vest tops, trousers, plain dresses. One in every colour and multiples of favourite/useful colours. I have 5 of the same colour long sleeve uniqlo top that I wear under my work uniform! Saves time and mental energy when it comes to shopping or everyday outfit planning.

VetOnCall · 22/04/2018 11:52

YABVerySensible. I do this all the time if I find something I really love. I found a perfect blue vest top in Fat Face last year, £20 but the perfect colour, length, fit and soft material so I bought 3 of them.

frasier · 22/04/2018 12:09

I bought a vest from Target once for a couple of dollars, loved it, went back and bought 10 more, every colour they had.

A few years later they were looking a but washed out so I asked DH to look for them when he was over there. He brought back 6 completely different ones that are awful! 😩

The moral is buy in bulk if you are doing it for yourself!
