you should at least check what's going on before you pull the curtain back?

Which is fine if you are not wearing literally just a pair of knickers, in full view of other patients, their relatives and whoever else us wandering around!

Privacy and dignity is important no matter how busy the unit was. It was wrong to just wrong back the curtains and leave them open. I doubt you'll get any HCPs on here saying otherwise it's just not good practice.

Dignity is important yes. Did they not give her a blanket so she could cover herself? I think safety and saving lives takes priority over dignity in A&E. If they had closed her curtains and she suddenly passed out or struggled to breathe or started vomiting, she could have gone unnoticed. Unfortunately they don't have the staff for 1:1 care unless the patient is very ill, so it would have been a nurse checking on her rather than sitting with her.
