... A wedding gift?

We are going to a wedding in a few weeks and they don't have a gift register, don't want to give money and I have no idea what to get them besides a photo frame which I'm sure they will get loads of!

Help please mumsnet!

Vouchers are always good? Like an itison for a meal? Or e.g. John Lewis so they could pick something themselves?
We didn’t have a gift list or mention gifts on our wedding invites but people mostly gave us monitary gifts (we already lived together) which was very kind of them, fair few also hinted on the cards what they’d like us to do with it e.g. “thought you could buy something for your home” or “thought you could eat out on your honeymoon” etc. Which we took note of and sent pics back thanking them when we did exactly that!
We did get lots of candles, photo frames, a tea set, and some really thoughtful handmade trinket boxes, a star map with both our initials, a hand carved photo frame, a personalised print by our favourite artist etc. which we treasure. We were very lucky. Hope that’s helpful?

A nice classic vase to re use with a big bouquet in if they are not going straight on honeymoon?

A voucher for afternoon tea , lunch or dinner or something for the garden

I once gave a very nice wooden key box that was hand painted as I like to find unique and artistic items for the couple. I knew that they didn't have this though so that did help.

If you get a voucher for afternoon tea please make sure it's usable. We got one with only a few months left on it, to be used only on work days between 2-4. We decided we would use some annual leave as the location was lovely only to find it was fully booked until after the expiry date.

Personally I think cash is best or a very useable voucher, somewhere you know they actually shop.

I think stuff for the home is very hit and miss. We got one thing we love and the rest has been rehomed.

We also got loads of alcohol for engagement and wedding presents even though DH doesn't drink and I'm now pregnant, so will sit around for a very long time.

Voucher sounds like the way to go then!
Thanks! 😊
