Neighbours taking the piss?

My mum's neighbours that is. They have raised their decking by about a foot and erected scaffolding type fencing around. She's lost all her privacy as now on s level with her bedroom window and well above her garden. Do they need planning permission for this? I've tried to attach a photo.

This is my current view of Giza...they are going to love me moving the trampoline up to the fence

Old you can have right old nosey as you bounce!

Fullof I was surprised the council took it so seriously as didn't expect them to. It was the pole and the huge lights that were the worst bits as shone in her bedroom at night. She did actually complain to them about that. She's got quite feisty in her old age it seems-think she gets it from me!

Oldraver, I feel your pain. In my last house ny next door but one neighbours used to build things every summer, sheds, dog runs, gazebos, then the next summer it would either be removed or extended, this went on for years.

It was always the adult son doing the work, every bloody summer he would have his hammer and bag of nails and build a new monstrosity. In fact we didn’t even know his name, we called him tap-tap, because that was all you could hear, his bloody hammer tapping away.

We did have a laugh though as for many months just the skeleton of Giza was up...a few weeks ago he started on the 'slats' that make the roof solid...he was doing them upwards and from the inside so was poking his body threw...we thought he would do one slat too many and trap himself

Literary..I wont be doing any nosying or bouncing...Giza is to hold their spa so I really dont want to take the chance of catching her in he cozzie tits out

They have installed the fucking thing today and I can hear it buzzing

Wow - what a good result OP. How could anybody want that hideous construction outside their home? I'd certainly not buy a house next to it - so you've done all the neighbours a big favour.

What a nasty neighbour your mum has, OP. Puts up an illegal structure and then cops the hump and takes it out on your mum. Bastard
