I have a link to what I want as my wedding dress.

It's from China. It's very cheap for what it looks like.

Does anyone have any experience buying from abroad and any advice.

Pic to follow

Thanks in advance everyone x

I know several people who fell for this ploy. Don't do it. I hate shopping too, but for your wedding dress it's worth the aggravation.

m.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?isRefine=true&sid=arthur_jenkins2006&isRefine=true&_pgn=1&_mwBanner=1

This seller sells 2nd hand dresses, uk seller, with positive reviews too. There are plenty more second hand dress sellers on ebay Smile

Check the website in trustpilot. When searching for mine I found many Chinese websites with bad reviews in tp

I know you’ve said about the underlay but is the idea that it looks like you’re naked underneath? Only I’m not sure about that for a wedding dress.

Q: Oh you look naked under that dress. Are you?
A: No. It’s just a cunning nude underlay designed to give that impression...

Have you got a Bridal Reloved shop near you? Preloved designer dresses sold wih full bridal service. I don't work for them or anything in case it sounded like it!

A friend of mine bought her wedding dress from China and it was beautiful. I remember her saying that there are facebook groups where people will post what the ebay dresses actually look like when they got them (how true to size etc) so you know if it will actually look like or similar to

My DD bought her prom dress from China. It cost her about £100. When it arrived it hung off her but then we paid about the same again to have it professionally altered to fit her perfectly. It was absolutely stunning and no-on else had anything remotely similar.

I am not suggesting that a prom dress is anyrhing like as important as a wedding dress but it does show that with a bit of tweaking these dresses can be lovely.

I had mine via eBay from China and it was perfect. Check the feedback. Make sure they are legit. Communicate with them, an try and find people who have used the same seller if possible.

MagneticMan · 17/04/2018 23:48

It's pretty but the nude underlay makes it look like it's see through. Not really what I'd expect a bride to be wearing if I'm honest.

As pp's have said, a lot of the dresses from China are truly dreadful quality and nothing like advertised.

Personally I wouldn't risk it.

Having unwisely followed Emma198 's suggestion and spent the past 20 minutes in a google vortex, it seems likely that any dress with a nude effect may arrive with two strategically placed bright white breast pads. And be green.

allthegoodnameshadgone · 17/04/2018 23:54

I think I may rethink this dress.

I am open to links.

Thanks for everyone being kind when they don't like Grin

Bring on the links. I'm on a very very rare hotel night away (work).

That dress is a bit porntastic. People will think you’re naked with strategically placed vegetation over your bits 😂

Sharpandshineyteeth · 18/04/2018 00:13

I paid £80 for a wedding dress from China and it was nice. Like a fitted lace one. I got it from eBay where the feedback seemed genuine.

misssmilla1 · 18/04/2018 00:20

I'd approach with caution, heard lots of horror stories about stuff not turning up as expected. There's some hideous prom dresses bought online gone wrong here (I know its not a wedding, but similar in gown expectations)
