This is a total non issue, and I guess this is lighthearted, and I know that but I’m eager to see who the MN Jury think is BU.

Dp and I have managed to accumulate a huge collection of bags for life, some I gathered from awesome places like a 14 year old shopper, that is GINORMOUS and came from my first foreign holiday, and another small tote I got when I gave a presentation to a cross party parliamentary commission (one of the things I’m mega proud of!) and some are your run of the mill Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and ASDA.

Dp has been getting increasingly mardy about them and he threw them all in the bin, even the ones I’ve kept for years because of their significance. He also kept four shit ones, whilst throwing my favourite ones away, and feigning ignorance to their whereabouts.
It’s bin day tomorrow and as I was taking the bins out I noticed that my Houses of Parliament and holiday bags were poking out the bin liner, so I brought them inside. Which sent DP mental. I suggested we trade them for the Asda bag under the sink so we still only had the same number. But he has told me I’m being rediculous.

So who is being unreasonable- can you have an emotional attachment to a bag for life? 😂

He was illogical to keep the shitty Asda ones and throw the good ones, that seems spiteful. He was nasty to lie to you about it too.

He was right to declutter them though, I’d only keep 10 max (enough for two big shops to keep in different places).

DontCallMeCharlotte · 17/04/2018 20:15

Not mental at all. Maybe a bit.

I have a massive Aldi one which I am going to begrudgingly hand over to a charity shop full of clothes. I will be gritting my teeth at the injustice of it. And you will have to prise my giant pink floral TK Maxx bag from my cold dead hand...

Tiddlywinks63 · 17/04/2018 20:22

I've just had a quick mental tally of how many I have and I reckon there are at least 20 canvas/jute/cotton ones. Some are used regularly so kept in the car, others hold knitting/crochet/WiPs, some are stuffed into a smaller tote in the hall where DH can't find them
I do know how you feel the plastic 'bag for life' are busy breeding in the cupboard under the stairs ☹️😡

Bin afew of his treasured items and plead ignorance.

The kind of man who would throw away his wife's precious carrier bags, is the kind of man who wouldn't have any clutter treasured items!

Honestly - I think he’s ridiculous- why would you keep little bags made of that plastic a bit like tarp, and throw away the Jute ones.
He hardly comes shopping.
I don’t think he understands-
Also I love a longer strap so I can pop it on my shoulder
Credit to him, he did keep the seasalt nite bag probably because he was with me when I bought it in st ives and he nearly passed out at £7 for a jute bag Grin

Also this is the man who owns 18 identical tuppaware boxes so he could “meal prep” after buying the first joe wicks book. He made a chilli once. He used three of the tubs. He got them about a year and a half ago.

We are both as bad eachother - I’m just not petty enough to throw away crap he’s bought. 😂😂
