to wonder how outraged you are at a supermarket not selling meat pies before 9am? Do they have an agenda?

Because I’ve just seen a couple in The Metro accuse Morrison’s of having some kind of pie based agenda because they wouldn’t sell them meat pies before 9am

Ha ha, what sort of agenda?! Seems daft not to be able to buy a pie though!

AuntFidgetWonkhamStrongNajork · 16/04/2018 18:30

Apparently they are Professional Complainers: twitter.com/vida_public/status/985624402741088256?s=20

EnglishGirlApproximately · 16/04/2018 18:31

Haha I’ve just been commenting on this on FB. I would love to know what they imagine the hidden agenda to be!

hidinginthenightgarden · 16/04/2018 18:32

What if I wanted to by one on my way to work, to have for lunch. Seems a strange policy!

Whatififall · 16/04/2018 18:33

it must be the slowest news day in the world. Never mind air strikes in Syria, they couldn’t buy a meat pie. They could have bought a fruit pie though. Why not meat?! Are Morrison’s pushing vegetarianism on people?! Maybe the meat pies will be used to bomb Syria.

And they were in the shop at 8.45am! Waiting 15 minute is not a conspiracy.

Or is it.

ShowOfHands · 16/04/2018 18:33

They are dictating to me when I can buy pies and when I can shop

Well yes, quite.

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 16/04/2018 18:33

But Tony suggested a more sinister explanation. ‘There’s more to this,’ he said. ‘Morrisons have got their own agenda. ‘They don’t want people to know about it, They have given too many ridiculous stories about why. They contradicted themselves over and over. ‘Who do they think us customers are? We are the people paying their wages

I want the video played at my funeral.

Tony, who has fish and chips three days a week and says he rarely touches pastry, believes Morrisons have a hidden agenda.

I have no words.

AztecBanana · 16/04/2018 18:39

I wonder how Tony feels about McDonalds not selling Big Macs until 10:30am.

WickedGoodDoge · 16/04/2018 18:43

I do feel a bit annoyed that I can’t get an olive and mushroom pizza made up for DD at Sainsbury’s before 10:00.especially when the sign says no hot food before 10 and I want an uncooked pizza. Grin

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 16/04/2018 18:44

Wicked and is that because Sainsbury’s have an agenda?

Must be circle. Perhaps I should piggyback on the publicity and get my own sad face in the papers.

Forgot the Grin in case anyone thinks I’m serious!

blackteasplease · 16/04/2018 18:50

Probably trying to shame ff Mums again.

Or not realising that nearly eveeyone had a hidden disability and can't possibly be expected to offer a seat to your 99 yo granny.

Or they have deliberately put the p and c spaces in a convenient spot to force able bodied non child owners to park their before leaping out of their Audi /BMW / massive SUV and sprinting into the supermarket.

Or perhaps they are involved with the conspiracy of sahms to shame wohms / wohms to shame sahms. Or of both to create the obvious myth that housework is possible with a penis? (NB these groups should be teaming up.more often)

TheHobbyKing · 16/04/2018 18:51

Why was he trying to buy sausage rolls and a pie if he ‘rarely touches pastry’?

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 16/04/2018 18:52

For his magic flying pie trick...of course!

So the story is about selling meat pies and they are holding pasties!
I was in our local Morrison's this afternoon - I should have investigated the hot pie counter.

SaucyJane · 16/04/2018 18:54

There's a Facebook page called "angry people in local newspapers" that has stories like this - they had a field day with this one!

SemperIdem · 16/04/2018 18:54

You can’t buy pies before 9am because they’re not cooked. Prior to 9am the ovens are used for hot breakfast rolls etc.

People are so fucking dull.

ALongHardWinter · 16/04/2018 18:54

I laughed out loud at the phrase 'having some kind of pie based agenda'. Grin

BarbaraofSevillle · 16/04/2018 18:56

I was in Morrisons before 8 am this morning and they had hot pies for sale. I didn't buy any but I have done before and eaten one for breakfast in the car and got covered in gravy.

Whitecurrants · 16/04/2018 18:57

That story has made my day

Numbkinnuts · 16/04/2018 18:58

When people trot out the line ' we pay their wages ' they lose all credibility. Not that they had any in the first place te this story Grin
