www.theguardian.com/money/2018/apr/07/i-started-my-business-from-scratch-and-now-work-two-weeks-a-month?

Or is it just me!? I can see why comments havent been allowed, something tells me he’d get a mauling in them.

They like to froth people up every so often; it's a good business model. It's what's turned the Scaly Nail into one of the world's most-visited websites

Very true. Now I feel mad that I clicked the link.

missbonita · 16/04/2018 14:25

He needs the air time to sound like a wanker and pick up wanker followers and the guardian needs people to hate, a silly 21 year old spending money he hasn't got is an easier target than, idk the Saudi Royal Family or Putin?

Boring boring boring

Chairmancow · 16/04/2018 15:47

But crowd do you think your working condition were as bad? Not even being able to take a sip of water until your break? Getting dicilplined for not working fast enough. No social interaction etc. Robots for mates?

Sounds like a fucking workhouse! (Except for robots!)
Did you actually read that article?

Also lucky you that you could get a mortgage at 24 as this poor fucker won’t be able to will he? It’s another world now to the one you remember! I bet you wouldn’t be so unsympathetic if you were living it now...

holiday101 · 16/04/2018 16:04

Didn't read the article myself but was eye rolling anyway as I have seen so many of his ilk on Instagram spouting the same stuff.

dontticklethetoad · 16/04/2018 16:14

Bell end.

Ringsender2 · 16/04/2018 16:39

It's hilarious! what a total and utter knob.

I guess he has possibly had a framework to fill in that makes him look even more braggy, but he could have done it a different way.

This young woman's one is fab: www.theguardian.com/money/2018/mar/31/how-i-spend-it-rosie-burns

UnsuspectedItem · 16/04/2018 16:44

Just to play devil's advocate, those of you saying he's a wanker because he flies a lot... I'm guessing you don't have children?

HollowTalk · 16/04/2018 18:05

@Crowd, could you not see that the Amazon guy was suffering mental health problems as a result of his job?

Ivorbig1 · 16/04/2018 18:14

What a twat. Declaring how much everything cost him is why he sounds like a big shit.
Other people’s success isn’t a problem, bragging is.

MissionItsPossible · 16/04/2018 18:31

The Amazon story is scary.

I only have one child so that puts me in a reasonably secure place carbon-emission-wise.

Yes, he’s a wanker. It’s clear from the one about Rosie that the journalist can make the tone and the subject more sympathetic so I can only assume he was v wankery so the journalist chose to edit it in such a negative way.

To be fair to him, he’s 21, and that’s very young for a man. I know quite a few men who are decidedly less wankery at 40 than they were at 21. Especially with boasting about success and cleverness which often masked their insecurity. He may well improve, but he’s got such a long way to go to get to a good point!

Mightymucks · 16/04/2018 18:35

That Rosie Burns one is rather sad. Yes, she will save up £50,000 by the time she is 27. But she seems to be letting the fun of being young pass her by.

ScipioAfricanus · 16/04/2018 18:37

I don’t know, Mighty, she is travelling which seems to be her priority. I couldn’t be as disciplined as her though. Having the odd warm drink when at a train station is one of life’s little joys.

user2375 · 16/04/2018 18:40

He sublets properties (no sure if the landlords know) and then crams people into them so they become HMO's and arbitrages the extra. So making money out of other peoples misery. Lovely...

blackteasplease · 16/04/2018 18:41

Love the word wanky

Bumper1969 · 16/04/2018 20:51

Ringsender2, why is the Rosie Burns one fab? She pays NOTHING to her parents for rent, heating, food etc etc, she's freeloading.

HollowTalk · 16/04/2018 21:17

She's living absolutely for free then bragging about being able to save. If she was in a flat, she'd be stony broke.

ScipioAfricanus · 16/04/2018 21:25

I don’t think she comes across as bragging, as she often points out that she’s lucky to be able to save as it’s only possible as she lives with her parents and says it’s a bad situation for her generation generally. She obviously still goes to quite some lengths to be able to save. I don’t know, I think it’s just like parents giving money for a deposit - her parents are enabling her to save by continuing to support her now. Of course you may feel any adult child shouldn’t rely on parents for financial support of whatever kind. I would provide housing/food for my child if I could financially and it allowed him to save for a house. I wouldn’t let him live rent free and just spend it all on avocado toast. Wink

ScienceIsTruth · 16/04/2018 21:32

What an utterly pointless article!!
