I don't like the sweet IKEA gravcy but do like the KFC stuff.

TutTutButt · 14/04/2018 09:32

agreeee

Hassled · 14/04/2018 09:35

The main reason I ever go to KFC is so I can have some of that lovely gravy. It really is the best bit.

McDougal · 14/04/2018 09:38

YABVU KFC gravy is the best part of a KFC!

Dry meatballs with chips? Ugb

TuftedLadyGrotto · 14/04/2018 10:00

As a southerner it always makes me smile when in Leeds ikea they ask if I want 'jam and gravy" with my meatballs. Its sauce not gravy. And I have to ask for them to not out it on the chips. I'm surprised they don't throw it at me.

cardibach · 14/04/2018 10:02

Anyone who talks about eating Bisto or other granules does not know what gravy is, so has no grounds to comment.
The only good gravy is home made, in the meat pan with the veg water.

ChasedByBees · 14/04/2018 10:04

I love ikea meatballs with gravy. Mmmm mmm mmmmmm

LoniceraJaponica · 14/04/2018 10:05

What don't you like about gravy RebelRogue?
IMO a roast dinner or sausages and mash are incomplete, and a bit dry without a tasty home made gravy.

KirstenRaymonde · 14/04/2018 10:05

The Ikea sauce isn’t really gravy and isn't meant to be, it’s a cream sauce.
I gave up meat a few years ago but still the only meat I crave is KFC and that bloody gravy. Not a beautiful medium rare steak or roast lamb... bloody KFC. Constantly. It’s very odd.

KirstenRaymonde · 14/04/2018 10:06

The Ikea sauce and the jam are also bloody delicious

scaryteacher · 14/04/2018 10:06

Had IKEA meatballs for dinner the other night, and made the sauce with water and cream. Yum.

treaclesoda · 14/04/2018 10:07

YABU.

IKEA gravy/cream sauce is the food of the gods.

treaclesoda · 14/04/2018 10:08

Don't like gloopy Bisto 'gravy' though. It's slimey.

OnionKnight · 14/04/2018 10:09

KFC gravy is lovely, I always get the XL pot.

Poshjock · 14/04/2018 23:45

I do love original Bisto browning. I’m not a fan of gravy granules and I can’t understand why my DH insists on using them.

I also hate watery gravy. A little Bisto powder in cold water added to gravy thickens it lovely!

LARLARLAND · 14/04/2018 23:49

KFC gravy is the King of Gravy.

TyneTeas · 14/04/2018 23:54

This bloke really likes KFC gravy...

Sorry.....WHAT????

I can’t comment on IKEA but KFC gravy is AMAZING!

I can’t believe I only discovered it by accident when they put it in my bag instead of a corn on the cob. After 32 years, I am a total convert.

NotACleverName · 15/04/2018 18:41

KFC gravy is fit, YAB so U.

tillytoodles1 · 15/04/2018 18:44

KFC gravy is made from the crispy chicken bits that come off when the chicken is being deep fried.

Daddystepdaddy · 15/04/2018 18:50

It's cream sauce on the meatballs at IKEA. Very traditional Swedish dish. I agree the IKEA version isn't great, but then again look how much they charge for it.

Never been to IKEA on a Thursday but wonder if they do pea soup and pancakes. Used to eat that a lot when I was working over there. No-one ever did explain to me why every canteen seemed to serve it on a Thursday though.

Fabulouslyrich · 15/04/2018 19:19

Sorry, I’m another one who loves kfc gravy!

Wikipedia talks about this. Mentions that Sweden and Finland both have a tradition of serving pea soup on Thursdays since at least the 13th century as a preparation for fasting on Fridays.

Personally, I hate Ikea meatballs and gravy both. I like most things, but white pepper is one thing I really dislike. From the taste, both meatballs and gravy have huge amounts of it.
