Why on earth would you leave a horrid bright yellow Arnold Clark sticker plastered on the back of it?

Im actually shocked at the amount of 67/18 plate cars worth 25k plus on the road that still have them on.

Why on earth would you not take yet off straight away?

PS can you tell this is one of my main irritants in life? Grin

Too lazy to care?

YetAnotherUser · 11/04/2018 15:35

Anyone who gives their business to Arnold Clarke is being unreasonable, so YANBU.

SadieHH · 11/04/2018 15:35

Oh mine too! I can’t bear the dealer stickers left on the car, why one earth would you? It’s bad enough when it’s on the number plate but the stickers look awful and are nothing but free advertising. It drives me crazy Grin

19lottie82 · 11/04/2018 15:37

I wouldn’t mind as much but if it was a low key white sticker, but those big yellow ones just give me the rage!

Who are Arnold Clark and where do they get their cars from?

I just assume if I see the sticker someone saved some cash getting it from there.

Our car arrived with a sticker in the back window advertising the dealer and we took it off. Every time the car goes back to the dealer for servincing etc they put a new one on. And we take it off...

Sweetpotatoaddict · 11/04/2018 15:41

I leave the dealers sticker on my car for advertising for them, because they are an independent franchise who have resisted being swallowed up by Arnold Clark

Dubdoor · 11/04/2018 15:41

My dad used to have a car dealership, and I loved seeing his stickers in the back of cars in random places, sometimes 100s of miles away.

TroubledLichen · 11/04/2018 15:42

Presumably because the sticker was on there when they picked up the car and they just cracked on with life without thinking that it needed removing because they either didn’t notice it or don’t care. This is a very bizarre thing to be ‘shocked’ by or to describe as ‘one of my main irritants in life’. Why do you care so much about something so insignificant?

Sparklingbrook · 11/04/2018 15:42

I can't bear clutter in the car or stickers obscuring the view out of the back window.

BetterEatCheese · 11/04/2018 15:55

Maybe it is a rental car?

19lottie82 · 11/04/2018 15:57

Why do you care so much about something so insignificant?

Do you not have any strange annoyances troubled?

And obv parts of my post are lighthearted, hence the big grin face emoji....... but on a serious note I just don’t understand why someone would spend £30k on a lovely silver car and leave a huge yellow sticker on....... it really boggles my mind!

A lot of brand new cars are hire cars or courtesy cars so people won’t have the option to remove the sticker themselves.

Singlebutmarried · 11/04/2018 16:01

I had one on my fiat a few years back. Not only was it in a stupid place, they’d stuck it on wonky.

Needless to say it came off quick smart.

speakout · 11/04/2018 16:11

A lot of new cars are company cars- OH and I have had many brand new cars and always left the sticker on.

DairyisClosed · 11/04/2018 16:12

Most people spend very little on these cars and buy them on PCP

serfandterf101 · 11/04/2018 16:12

Ha! This reminds me of my dad. He bought a car at our local dealer in the 80s and insisted the dealer sticker was removed as a condition of sale 😀

He was a funny chap, and as i get older I realise how much of him I have in me (he died when i was 21). I hate those stickers too.

PlumsGalore · 11/04/2018 16:14

I don't like them either, but even if you take them straight off they seem to leave a mark forever.

twinone · 11/04/2018 16:16

I initially though Arnold Clark were a maintenance company as the sticker seem to be modelled on the 'motorway maintenance' stickers also seen on the back of cars.
I always take off the garage stickers, I'm not advertising for them.

Redglitter · 11/04/2018 16:17

They're a bugger to get off. I took the one off my last car and it was a right pain. Cba taking it off my current car. To be honest it's not something that even registers with me as being there

19lottie82 · 11/04/2018 16:18

“This reminds me of my dad. He bought a car at our local dealer in the 80s and insisted the dealer sticker was removed as a condition of sale”

Go Serfs Dad ! Grin

If my Mum had done this when I was a teenager I would have been mortified! But it’s something I would totally do myself now!

OP posts:
Ariela · 11/04/2018 16:23

You do realise that they're left on so as to recognise the new car in the car park when you can't rememeber exactly where you left it and you go to approach a similar one so you don't look stupid trying the key to open it when it has no sticker?

CatsCatsCats11 · 11/04/2018 16:23

They don't come off! I said the same the my parents and tried to peel theirs off and they were left with "nold Clark" Grin

morningconstitutional2017 · 11/04/2018 16:26

I left a small sticker for an independent car dealer on the back window as it's a happy reminder of the small seaside town where I used to live.

rslsys · 11/04/2018 17:19

“This reminds me of my dad. He bought a car at our local dealer in the 80s and insisted the dealer sticker was removed as a condition of sale”

Yep - I've done this! Also presented a dealership with a £400 bill for "Mobile Advertising Services" when they had failed to remove the sticker on a new car. Also made them change the number plates as they had their name on too! Sadly they capitulated and I didn't get the money . . .

19lottie82 · 11/04/2018 17:22

Cats prob because it had been on for ages and welded its self to the windscreen!
Whenever a friend or family member shows me a new car, if it has an AC sticker on it, I always ask for permission to take it off and it comes off in one swift pull! (Small pleasure and all of thatGrin)
