To chase the hospital?

I’m waiting for an iron transfusion. Have been for a few weeks.

I was supposed to have an appt by last Thursday, have left messages and emailed since but no joy.

Wasn’t so bad last week, but now can’t stand up without nearly falling over.

I daren't drive at the moment and even going up and down the stairs is a mission.

So should I just keep chasing? I know the department is busy and there’s more than likely people far worse off than me.

Ironically I got discharged from the study I was attached to (which meant I could just turn up if there was a problem) and my final blood test showed up the problem.

That’s terrible. Definitely keep chasing. Could your GP follow up with them for you?

I ended up ringing 111 today as still no response.

Now in a and e awaiting a blood transfusion as my bloods have gotten even lower.

No wonder I’ve felt like poo

All the best with it. The past six months my toddler has had to had quite a bit of medical treatment as an outpatient and micromanaging the hospital staff became a full time job. Very sad and frustrating to see the NHS so under-resourced.

Dreadful lack of organisation. A friend's breast cancer developed far longer than necessary because she was polite and considerate and didn't nag the hospital for a response.
OP Hope you are soon much better.

Ive been hearing some horror stories about medical treatments in other parts of the world today (Europe actually )from a close friend. We are very lucky to have the nhs. It may take some chasing up now and again. But overall they provide something I will be eternally grateful for.
Op. You’re in good hands. Hope you feel better soon
