Drumming neighbour

Lying in bed, very ill. Temperature of 39. Been given anti biotics and steriods. Feel like death. Mother is looking after dc. Neighbour has started drumming. For the first time ever. Not even sure who it is. But its been an hour and a half already. My head is pounding and this feel like hell. Suspects and next door neighbours with 4 teen aged kids plus friends.

AiBU to think drumming in domestic places should be banned. FYI this is a semi detached house in London. So not the countryside. But drumming studios are probably available?

Yanbu but I find most neighbours very inconsiderate tbh. I have an upstairs neighbour who let's her kids ride up and down above my head on ride-on toys.

Yabu. It’s not late and there entitled to do what they want in there house. It’s not there fault your ill. No, I don’t think it should be banned. Not everyone can afford to rent studios or places to practice drumming.

The teen that lives on one side of us is a very talented drummer. I'd rather listen to him than the kids on the other side who play piano.
Mainly because he can actually play but also because he plays in the day and not at 8am on a Saturday!

YABU if it's during the daytime

Argh! I feel for you. Our neighbour's son took up drumming many years ago, and it used to drive me crazy. He was really rubbish at it too. I eventually had to go out and buy a very expensive noise cancelling headset. It even cuts out their Kartcher water thing. Worth every penny.

Seriously though, it it gets really bad, complain to your local council's environmental health department. People underestimate just how loud and annoying drum practice can be.

Ear plugs are your friend in this matter.

You're welcome Smile

The sound really travels. We have a drummer who lives on the next street and I can hear him practising in the afternoon, when everything else is quiet. Hope you feel better soon.

YABU but they should use practice pads, that's not on.
You are right there are lots of practice rooms, I know of several in our town.
They should be able to play during reasonable hours, but they should also consider their neighbours.
There is no excuse, and my home has live music for most of the day, never after 8 pm unless, of course our neighbours are away.

I'm sorry you are ill, I'd feel like you too.
Hope you get better soon Thanks
