Shaven or not?

Just curious really, what's the 'in' thing now? Do people still shave or is it au natural?

I agree that everyone should do what they feel comfortable with. I've shaved and and not shaved, and prefer some hair. Hair provides a natural "lubricant" for sliding against another body with his hair. I don't have a lot, and keep it very trimmed. Maybe because mine has never been "curly". I have naturally straight fine hair on my head and my pubes have always been maybe wavy. I do feel sad for a generation that feels somewhat expected to shave, when getting pubic hair was the exciting evidence that we were becoming adults!

I worry i will get some young nurse who will judge me as a stinky old feminist hippy and tell tales on forums about the old woman with pubes so long you could plait them, and obviously hasn’t shaved or had sex in years.

Oh no.You should go anyway. They really don't judge or take any notice whatsoever. Promise you.

happymummy12345 · 10/04/2018 01:52

I don't really care what anyone else does. I shave because I feel more confident and comfortable when I do.

happymummy12345 · 10/04/2018 01:53

Personally I can't stand hair down there so I make sure it's all honest

ferrier · 10/04/2018 02:11

Honest? Hmm

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 10/04/2018 14:26

I used to claim/believe that I went to all the trouble and time of staying sleek and hairless 'for me.' I then met DH, who prefers a decent 70's look, and realised that I'd been lying to myself. Grin

AyeAyeFishyPie · 10/04/2018 14:43

I shave mine into the shape of Disney characters. I thought everyone did that?

JamieVardysHavingAParty · 10/04/2018 15:12

AyeAye Minnie Mouse, presumably?

AyeAyeFishyPie · 10/04/2018 15:20

Well that's what I started with but I've gone creative now - last month it was Lady and the Tramp. Time before that it was the Lion King Wink

JacquesHammer · 10/04/2018 15:21

There isn't a "done thing".

Do whatever you want.

Incidentally though, "shaven" is not a good idea - shaving increases the risk of STDs

dementedpixie · 10/04/2018 15:24

I trim with scissors or sometimes a lady shave. Have never taken it all off

Surely only if you’re having sex with someone who has an STD? I’m as sure as I can be that DH doesn’t have any.

Well sure, but you could say that about condoms reducing the risk of STDs only if you're having sex with someone who has one.

Given STDs can remain dormant for many, many years there really is no way of being sure your partner doesn't have one unless you're sure you've only slept with each other.

I think its prudent to be aware.

JacquesHammer · 10/04/2018 15:27

Or indeed you have regular STD testing of course

mintich · 10/04/2018 15:34

I shave!

19lottie82 · 10/04/2018 15:47

Trim it with an electric trimmer / shaver.
