flightattendant · 11/05/2007 14:02

Oh poo. Chatee, which is it? Just gone and bought one new this morning...

LieselVentouse · 11/05/2007 14:02

OP posts:
chatee · 11/05/2007 14:04

i'll put a pic on the for sale section...give me a few mins to locate the picture as the pram is at my parents house as we don't have the storage...

Ceolas · 11/05/2007 14:04

Bebecar are good prams but don't seem to go for much on ebay. You'd get a good one for under £100. They are big though. Is it something for keeping in the car?

LieselVentouse · 11/05/2007 14:08

Yes, last time (6 years ago) we got a mothercare one brand new for £150 which was a three in one very practical and it was in and out the boot of the car all the time and I got massive mileage out of it. Ive heard that the regulations have now changed and that baby shouldnt sleep in a car seat anymore (which is waht the three in one was)so decided to go for one of the carry cot type prams (which start around £300 in Mothercare)

Thanks Chatee...got the chassis off ebay for £50 (Classic and not used much) because they were £150 in shops. Got Sleepover top brand new from discount nursery shop, that was reduced from £190 to £149 which I was fairly happy with, especially as it's all cushy and new for new baby (due in 4 weeks and getting soppy )

flightattendant · 11/05/2007 14:12

Liesel - ebay can be brill, but equally it can be risky. Have bought a lot of second hand prams on there and a few have been great, a few have been terrible!
Always try out the ones you like in a shop first, then make sure you go for one with clear pictures and in 'immaculate' condition...you can't 'assume' anything unless it says it!

chatee · 11/05/2007 14:20

can't locate a pic atm(will keep looking)but is very similar if not the same to this on ebay 220109798729

btw mine is in excellent codition, non smoking / pet free household....

make me an offer please...you know you want to

usandnosleep · 11/05/2007 14:35

I'm also looking to sell a Mamas and Papas Pliko3 in 'Boston Check' if you're interested. It's in very good condition, we bought it for £320ish a year ago and hope to sell it for £150. Will come with footmuff, raincover and parasol.
I can do pics usandnosleep at hotmail dot co dot uk

Don't want to step on anyones toes though so feel free to ignore me

theUrbanDryad · 11/05/2007 14:43

LV - ds sleeps in his car seat, although now i've taken the car seat bit out of his travel system he only sleeps in the car in it. i mean, what are you supposed to do, give them coffee before a long journey??

my travel system's from Mothercare too - sounds very similar to the one you described earlier, (it wasn't the Urban Detour was it?) and is fab. the only thing is, it's a bit of a pain on the bus as it's so long, so i have a M&P Pliko stroller for on the bus, which is got from a charity shop for £25. i am a bit of a scummy mummy though....

i do think it's absurd how much prams are these days.

flightattendant · 11/05/2007 14:50

Ooh had a look Chatee...it's really nice! Silver cross are always darn good quality aren't they - well, the older ones were - I just hope the shiny one I just bought lives up to the reputation!
If it's crap then I'll come back and buy yours
AND usandnosleep's P3...

(pramaholic here)

usandnosleep · 11/05/2007 14:54

What IS it about prams??!!
I have the Pliko, a Zapp and since seeing a friends Techno I want one of them!

flightattendant · 11/05/2007 15:00

I have no idea what it is! Do you want our list? (some of these have GOT to go...)

Quinny Freestyle 3 (nice)
" " 4 (not so nice, will sell)
" Fashion 4 (quite like)
Alu-rax Gemini twin off roader (lovely but not much use to us so have to sell!)
Easylife Sport twin (GORgeous even if DS1 is now too big to share it with new baby)
but I will keep it forever. Just in case...
Pliko (not P3) with Navetta.
Spare Pliko.
Phil & Teds Kiwi Explorer (might be useful with big and small DS's. Might not. Good for shopping though!)
And now the big Silver Cross.

I think I am going mad.
All the above except the SC were cheapies off ebay, I'd better add!

usandnosleep · 11/05/2007 15:27

That's a serious collection!

agnesnitt · 11/05/2007 15:32

UrbanDryad, the information on car seats suggest that it's not advisable for people to use them as the sole mode of transport/rest for kids. If they happen to sleep in the car, all the better for your driving. The main bugbear now seems to be those who see the car seat as the be all and end all of baby transportation. The mother of my nephew being a prime example. He was always in his car seat. Slept in it, ate in it, travelled in it, played in it. She very rarely had him out of it. That's what they're trying to caution about.

Agnes
