he's staying up an extra hour to watch tv when I say I'm going to bed 🙄 what a waste of first day smooth legs and the extra time it takes to shave them on a precious Sunday evening.

WIBU to never shave again and let my legs turn in to big hairy beasts?

I have not shaved my legs for a year and have minimal hair as I have a disease that stunts the growth of body hair , it’s brilliant and saves such a lot of time .

PutUpWithRain · 08/04/2018 22:54

I fecking love being single. I leave my legs & pits for months at a time and no one snarks at me. Although I do of course maintain a waxed bikini line, because obviously that's what other people are going to notice...

CrochetBelle · 08/04/2018 22:55

Teri87 are you that fucking weirdo that keeps randomly posting about girls doing PE in their knickers?

Fuck off. It doesn't happen. Go wank elsewhere.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 08/04/2018 22:55

KC I'm unashamedly grey, I'd like to do both legs and head Sea Mermaid green, but I'm not sure if I can get away with it at 50?

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 08/04/2018 22:57

Although you could too Blushlove! Grin

alienlaunchpad · 08/04/2018 22:59

@Blushlove I'm always surprised that anyone shaves their legs. Don't they grow back all bristly? I got an epilator for my 16th birthday (in 1988) and never shaved again. I remember it was a bit painful at first (like waxing), but after a while the hairs just stopped growing back.

Blushlove · 08/04/2018 23:01

@alienlaunchpad I tried an epilator once and nearly went through the ceiling!

OP you should join the ‘Patio is calling’ thread. Sounds like your DH might need to be buried with the rest.

NeeChee · 08/04/2018 23:03

I must admit I'm very lax with shaving my legs, DP doesn't seem to notice/care. I cringe when he strokes my legs and I know they're hairy, it's doesn't seem to put him off though lol.
I recently grew my pits out to get them waxed, and I quite like the fluffiness. I think I'm weird.

@mimibunz oh I'm so glad you mentioned that thread, I didn't see it earlier but it's giving me a good read and yes he does need to join the rest!

If you've gone to the effort of doing it especially for him, you may as well let him know that that was the case.

I've stopped bothering with shaving now. If I want to shave for me then I do, if I don't DH has to put up with it.

As far as I'm concerned he doesn't ask me if he needs to shave his face or anything else, so why should I make an effort to shave for him? Luckily he doesn't care at all, and thinks its good if I don't shave as then I don't spend so long in the shower...

I would have been so embarrassed as a teen if I had been seen with un-shaved legs, but really there are more pressing issues in my life at present!

northside · 08/04/2018 23:11

I agree with @AnnieLobeseder. You've got to get past that stubbly stage and you're all good!

6triesbuttingout · 08/04/2018 23:14

Oh god I’m so glad I’m not the only one that dosnt put the full effort in! Dh dosnt seen to mind and mine are quite fair but if i do make the effort I feel quite glam and want to dress up and go out! I guess that’s why Dh is happy he can get away with takeaway 😂😂

alienlaunchpad · 08/04/2018 23:15

@Blushlove yeah, the epilator was painful at first, and so I built up gradually and was never able to use it for anything other than my legs, but the hairs grow back weaker each time. I only get a few sparse hairs now, which re-appear very slowly, and they don't hurt at all to remove.

If you have pale skin and dark hair then a home-laser device would work well. I treated myself to a Philips Lumea for my 40th birthday and use it for under-arms and bikini line, so shaving is a thing of the past for those areas now too. (I just wish I'd had one years ago!)

JustHereForThePooStories · 08/04/2018 23:15

I haven’t shaved my legs since the autumn. They’re very smooth- if you stroke downwards, like you would a sleeping cat.

JaneJeffer · 08/04/2018 23:18

I was chatting to DH earlier about buying a Lumea. He asked if I could leave it until next month as we won't have as many bills then. I said it won't be on offer then, maybe I will just grow a beard. He said get it!

ferrier · 08/04/2018 23:24

Lol.
To the earlier poster who said, doesn't it grow back stubbly? Well no, because it doesn't get a chance to grow back. Quick swipe up and down every day. Same for pits and bikini line (maybe not quite such a quick swipe for the latter!). Really must invest in a Lumea though.

HappilyHarridan · 08/04/2018 23:29

Where is the lumea on offer?

JaneJeffer · 08/04/2018 23:32

Boots but I'm in Ireland so don't know if it's also on offer in UK. €400 instead of €700.

lattewith3shotsplease · 08/04/2018 23:34

OP,
Most men are more visual need it explained in detail

Did you not put your freshly shaved legs on his lap....and say "stroke me"

Well maybe just the one leg, or you will fall over. Grin

OldGreyBadger · 08/04/2018 23:37

Girlfriends of mine at university in the 70s didn't shave anything, as far as I can remember. It's a cynical ploy by business to make women embarrassed about parts of their body and then sell them a solution. @kittensinmydinner1

Just change the password at the appropriate time and change back when they are allowed to access. (tries to help avoid leg plaits)

JaneJeffer · 08/04/2018 23:40

Maybe OldGrey but I hate having hairy legs. It just a personal preference.

HabituallyOptimistic · 09/04/2018 00:16

One of the many benefits of being divorced. Haven't shaved my legs in ages, am quite fascinated by having hairs sticking through my work thick black tights Grin
